National Night Out & Cinco's Sulfur Crisis: When Your Bayou Smells Like Hell and Your Neighbors Are Eating Hot Dogs for Democracy
Description
We kicked off the morning with Assistance Dog Day—because even the dog has a job now while you're still between opportunities—then spiraled into murky Cinco Bayou water, sulfur smells, and fish trying to beach themselves like it's the apocalypse, all before Bobby offered to punch someone in the face to prove words don't hurt.

Show Notes
Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell kicked off another gloriously chaotic Tuesday morning on 100.3 KROCK, Fort Walton Beach's classic rock station, broadcasting live from the Emerald Coast — where the weather's hitting a balmy 90 degrees and the hosts are hitting each other with conversational whiplash. First up on the National Day calendar: Assistance Dog Day, honoring the four-legged professionals who guide, alert, and fetch while we bumble around pretending we invented confidence. Bobby reminded us that these dogs have jobs while most of us are "between opportunities" — barking at the TV like it pays. Then came Single Working Women's Day, celebrating the folks holding society together with a busted stapler and pure spite, followed by National Night Out tonight at Beulah First Baptist Church with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office and Fort Walton Beach PD from 5 to 7 p.m. — complete with school supplies, food, and the mutual agreement to act normal for exactly two hours. And finally, National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, which Bobby can't celebrate because diabetes says "you can't touch that." Schuyler threatened to run out and eat cookies in front of him. It's love, folks.
Local news was heavy this morning — and we mean heavy. A 24-year-old Mary Esther moron led deputies on a nearly four-mile pursuit through Destin, hitting 120 mph in a 55 zone, weaving through traffic like he was auditioning for a Fast & Furious reboot. He was arrested without incident, because even adrenaline junkies get tired. Meanwhile, over in Cinco Bayou, residents reported murky water, a strong sulfur smell, and marine life literally trying to escape — eels climbing seawalls, flounder beaching themselves, crabs fleeing like it's the apocalypse. Okaloosa County and the Department of Health are investigating, with water samples pending. Bobby's theory? Runoff or fertilizer, because low oxygen doesn't make sense after all the rain we've had. Also, the Eddie Duran murder trial continues today, and a small plane made an emergency landing on I-10 in Pensacola yesterday morning — miraculously, no injuries. Just another Monday in the Panhandle.
Sponsors got their due this morning, naturally. Stripes Pub & Grill in Navarre continues to fuel the show (and Bobby's coaching empire), while Okaloosa Gas and OutKast Sushi in Miramar Beach keep the lights on and the sashimi fresh. Speaking of Stripes, their event venue La Sala Event Center is hosting a comedy night on August 29th — three comedians, food truck, cash bar, tickets starting at $36. We've got the link at thebteamshow.com. Also, this Friday is the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce First Friday Coffee event, sponsored by Coastal Realty Services, and Schuyler and Bobby will be broadcasting live. Chamber members, RSVP to Rochelle. Non-members, it's not too late to join the fun — details on the events tab at our site.
Bobby's "Ask Uncle Bobby" segment — brought to you by Hard Rock Bet, where he does all his soccer betting — tackled a listener who feels crushed every time their overachiever friends gather for what Bobby accurately described as "quarterly earnings calls where currency is human worth." His advice? Weaponize nonchalance. Say "nice" and let their accomplishments die on the carpet like a champagne cork with no party. Misremember details on purpose. Congratulate them on the triathlon when they ran a marathon. Bobby's coaching philosophy is less "self-help" and more "controlled demolition," and honestly, we're here for it. Also discussed: eight phrases Gen Xers say that make Gen Z roll their eyes, including "everyone's so sensitive nowadays" — to which Bobby responded, "You know who says words hurt? People who've never been punched in the face." He's offering therapy sessions. It's a service.
High school football is less than two weeks away, and we'll be carrying the Niceville Eagles on 103.7 The Ticket and the Choctaw Big Green Indians on 94.3 FTW all season long. Full schedules for Choctaw, Destin, Crestview, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, Navarre, and more are up on our website. If you've got play-by-play you'd like to share, give us a call — we can't always put it on the air, but we'll get it on the site. Also, if you're looking to beat the heat this Saturday, head up to the Crestview History Museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for their "Summer Sundays" event — ice cream sundaes while you explore Crestview's colorful past. Sounds like a solid plan. And remember, tonight's National Night Out at Beulah First Baptist — because nothing says community like grilled meat, free stickers, and the mutual agreement to act normal for exactly two hours. Stay tuned, stay irreverent, and keep it locked on 100.3 KROCK — where the classic rock never stops and neither does the chaos.

(00:01) Here's today's B Team Redux. Why are we sending out an SOS? Everything's smooth as butter this morning. Yeah, something like that. Good morning everybody. Happy Tuesday. It's the B Team Morning Show. Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell. We're going to see a high today of around 90 degrees. We'll check that full forecast in just a little bit. (00:22) Of course, tonight is National Night Out, and the Fort Walton Beach PD and Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office are going to be doing their school supply giveaway and dinner tonight at Beulah First Baptist Church here in Fort Walton Beach at 5 o'clock. (00:38) What's up? Nothing. Oh, okay. Well, we'll talk about it off the air, I guess, then. Well, I mean, you want to talk about it now? You're kind of set up to do one thing, and you're talking about a whole other thing that we've got set up to as well. (00:53) Oh. Yeah, I reckon you're right. We'll talk more about that here in just a little bit. I'm just trying to tie stuff in. Yeah, well, clearly I didn't. You were ahead of me on that one. You know what, Schuyler? There's no need to always state the obvious. (01:12) Okay, it's National Night Out. Well, the first holiday that we had lined up to talk about before I derailed the train here is that today is Assistance Dog Day. Yeah, because even the dog has a job now while you're still between opportunities. (01:29) Between opportunities, yeah. I guess, you know, barking at the TV like it pays. Oh, well. Anyway, you got me so frazzled this morning. I guess so. Good Lord. Assistance Dog Day is that annual reminder that the real professionals in this country are four-legged, underpaid, and still somehow more polite than your average adult in the checkout line. (01:51) You know, it's a day to spotlight dogs trained to do the stuff we should be able to manage. You know, guiding, alerting, fetching, grounding. You know, while we stay around clapping like we're inventing confidence. See, you're supposed to appreciate the skill, the patience, the bond, and maybe stop calling every yappy purse missile in a vest a service animal. (02:12) Because, you know, it once looked at you during a panic attack. Anyway, today we salute the dogs who keep humans functional while it's a full-time job with no overtime and no union. Yeah, well said. Assistance Dog Day. All right, Nonstop Classic Rock is on the way with the fix. (02:30) One thing leads to another on 100.3 KROCK. Ram Jam on 100.3 KROCK, the Classic Rock Station. Black Betty. Betty. B-E-T-T-Y. (02:51) I know it. I know it. I've only had one cup of coffee. Cut me some slack here, would you? I would love to say that's the problem now. A high today of 90 degrees. We'll check your forecast in just a little bit. Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell on the B Team Boarding Show brought to you by our friends at Stripes Pub & Grill in Navarre, Okaloosa Gas at OutKast Sushi in Miramar Beach. (03:13) Don't forget this coming Friday for Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce First to Friday Coffee event sponsored by Coastal Realty Services this month. Bobby and I will be out there from the event broadcasting live throughout the morning. If you are a chamber member, remember to reach out to Rochelle this week in RSVP. (03:31) And if you're not a chamber member, well, it's not too late. You can join and join us for the fun on Friday mornings. But we've got all the details on First Friday Coffee online. Just click on the events tab at thebteamshow.com. Well, today, Bobby, on the National Day calendar, Sammy Kershaw had an old song called National Working Woman's Holiday. (03:53) And today is Single Working Women's Day. Yeah, it's celebrating the people who do the job, pay the bills and still get told to smile more like it's payroll. That's what I tell Bobby every morning. Smile more. Single Working Women's Day is the shiny little calendar sticker where we all pretend society just now noticed the person holding the whole operation together with a busted stapler, a dead foam battery and, well, pure spite. (04:19) You know, it's a salute to the women doing payroll, deadlines, dishes and emotional triage while romance sits in the corner like an unplugged air fryer. You know, technically present, functionally useless. The rules are simple. Show up, handle it, smile if you can and accept exactly zero sermons from anyone whose biggest hardship today was choosing a font. (04:39) You know, we're not here to fix the holiday's absurdity. We're here to document it like a nature show where the apex predator is a woman with a lanyard and no patience. That's right. Single Working Women's Day. Didn't know it was a thing until now. (04:55) All right, let's take a break, pay a couple bills, a look at your marine forecast is on the way and two more holidays to talk about before the end of the hour. Stay with us. It's the B Team Morning Show on 100.3 KROCK. You actually like this? Yeah, dude, it's classic rock. (05:12) Well, there's more where that came from. 100.3 KROCK. Daringer, rock and roll in your hoochie-coo. Wow. How about that? Good morning, everybody. It's Tuesday. The B Team Morning Show's on the air. Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell brought to you by our friends at Stripes Pub and Grill in Navarre as well as Okaloosa Gas and OutKast Sushi in Miramar Beach. (05:35) And today on the National Day calendar, we celebrate the fact that this evening is National Night Out. Yeah, the one night a year where we pretend meeting our neighbors is community and not a prelude to borrowing tools or judging lawns. Amen. (05:50) Yeah, you feel that one? I do. It's a summer evening when America decides the best way to build a community is to stand in a parking lot eating a hot dog that tastes like civic duty while everyone pretends they totally recognize their neighbors. (06:05) You know, the cops roll up smiling, the kids climb on a cruiser like it's Disneyland for taxpayer money, and, well, the adults do the polite small talk dance where you learn three new first names and forget them before the ketchup dries. Right. You know, it's wholesome. It's awkward. It's oddly comforting, like a family reunion where nobody's fighting yet, but the folding chairs are already set up for it. (06:28) Consider it the annual reminder that society is held together by grilled meat, free stickers, and the mutual agreement to act normal for exactly two hours. Well, now you got me feeling bad about National Night Out tonight at Buell First Baptist Church with the Sheriff's Office and Fort Walton Beach PD. (06:46) Look, I just described it exactly. Yes, National Night Out is tonight, and our friends with the Fort Walton Beach Police Department and the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office are hosting a National Night Out back-to-school event tonight from 5 to 7 at Buell First Baptist Church in Fort Walton Beach. (07:02) This event is designed to strengthen relationships between first responders and the community while providing school supplies, food, drinks, law enforcement displays, and more. What did I say differently? I know, but I was just adding in what they were specifically doing this specific event. (07:20) What did I say different? It's just a different voice! Just a different voice! God Almighty! It's going to be a rough day, folks. I'm just saying, one of us was accurate. No, no, no. One of us was a marketing piece. Well, here's the thing. When you're doing news and information, you can be first, you can be fast, and you can be accurate. (07:41) I was first! I talked about it. Top of the hour, 6 o'clock. Yeah, well, I was fast and accurate. Hey, somebody's got to win first for something. Dio, Rainbow in the Dark on 100.3 KROCK. About an hour out from your advice with Uncle Bobby coming up around 7.45. (08:01) But I'll tell you what, it's been a fun hour. Not really. It's been an hour of national holidays. But this one, I am going to enjoy. Why? Because I know Bobby can't celebrate it. Diabetes says, you can't touch that. It's National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. (08:18) Yeah, because we need a holiday to honor crumbs in the bed and adults pretending sugar is self-care. It is. It's cheaper in therapy. National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day is the annual reminder that society can't agree on health care, but it can rally around a warm butter, sugar, and emotional avoidance. (08:34) You take a perfectly respectable cookie, you stud it with chocolate like you're paving the driveway, and suddenly everyone's acting like they invented joy in a 350 degree oven. There's no history lesson here, no noble cause, just a sanctioned excuse to treat yourself while pretending calories don't count if they're shaped like nostalgia. (08:55) So mark it on the calendar, not because it matters, but because it's a handy little checkpoint for how far your self-control has slid since January. National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. Man, sounds delicious, doesn't it? (09:11) It really does. You know what, here in this next break, we've got 15 minutes, I'm going to run up the street, get some cookies, and I'll come back and you can watch me eat them. Sounds great. You're welcome. Hey, don't forget, high school football less than two weeks away, and we're going to be carrying the Niceville Eagles play-by-play all season long on 103.7 The Ticket, and the Choctaw Big Green Indians play-by-play home-and-away all season long on 94.3 FTW. (09:37) But on our website, thebteamshow.com, on the events page, we have got all sorts of different high school football schedules, Choctaw, Destin, Crestview, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, Navarre, and more. So you can find your favorite school on our website with their schedule. (09:53) And hey, if you happen to know somebody that does play-by-play and you'd like to get it out there and over the years, We can't necessarily put it on the airways, but give us a call here. We'd love to put your play-by-play out on the site. That's something we can do all the time. Yeah, we can get it there so you never miss a beat of it. (10:10) And give the kids some recognition that they deserve. Absolutely. All right, we're minutes away from 7 o'clock. We'll take a break. A look at news is next on 100.3 KROCK. Five minutes after 7 o'clock, it's Tuesday morning, 73 degrees in Fort Walton right now. (10:28) High today, climbing up to about 89 this afternoon. I'll tell you what, 73 this time of the morning, not feeling too shabby. Yeah, I even noticed last night I was headed out and I was like, man, it's kind of cool. (10:45) Just the air's dried out, hasn't it? Yeah, a little drier. Not so bad. Not too shabby at all. I was like, is this August or is this February? Well, that'd be warm for February. (11:00) Yeah, more like a late October, November kind of feel. Yeah, it felt really nice. In fact, I actually decided, you know what, tonight's a good night to mow. So, got that done because I was waiting on your boys to come over and help me out. Yeah, that's apparently a long line. (11:17) Okay. I'm not even number one on it. Damn. Sucks to suck. Yeah, apparently. What up, the B Team Morning Show. Schuyler Black and Bobby Durrell this Tuesday morning. Again, a high today of 89 degrees. (11:33) Lots of local news to get to, including what's going on in Cinco. Yeah. Also, Liza Jackson Park's renovation has been postponed until September. We'll talk about that. Who would have guessed? (11:48) And a Mary Esther moron, well, pulled over after a nearly four-mile pursuit, driving 120 miles per hour in the city of Destin. Oh, wow. So, there's a lot to talk about this morning, and that's just scratching the surface. (12:06) Tip of the iceberg, if you will. Yeah, man, wow. Only someone could have predicted that there would have been delays at Liza Jackson. Right in the middle of summer. Wow. If only someone knew. You should be rich, Bobby. (12:22) You know, yeah. Oh, well. 100.3 KROCK, the classic rock stations, ZZ Top and La Grange on a Tuesday morning here in Fort Walton Beach. (12:37) Beautiful morning, 73 degrees. Right now, a high today of 89. We'll check your forecast here in just a little bit. Coming up in about 20 or 25 minutes, we'll get your advice with Uncle Bobby. Stay with us on that. (12:53) Well, the court recessed until today after a long hearing to determine whether or not to grant the court's motion to dismiss the murder case against the former Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputy, Eddie Duran. Now, if you remember, Duran was fired from the sheriff's office and charged with the murder of Hurlburt Special Ops Airman Roger Fortson back in May of 2024 after shooting and killing him. (13:19) The motion is the latest in a series of requests by the defense team led by Gainesville trial attorney Rob Smith and seconded by local attorney and former judge Michael Flowers that also included loosening of Duran's bond conditions and travel restrictions for traveling to transport his children. (13:38) Now, witnesses brought by the defense and the prosecution varied from witnesses to the immediate mental state of Fortson before he was shot to the assistant medical examiner and Fortson's girlfriend who witnessed the death while FaceTiming with her boyfriend. (13:55) So, it'll be interesting to see how this case continues to unravel here. But it looks like the defense is pulling out every stop they've got. Yeah, it's just a terrible thing. (14:11) I mean, nobody was in the right. Nobody should have lost their life over it, but yeah. Yeah, that's about all you can say. It's about all you can say, but this should be back in court sometime this morning. (14:28) Don't forget, tonight, National Night Out, Beulah First Baptist Church here at Fort Walton Beach with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office and Fort Walton Beach PD. Starts at 5 o'clock, goes until 7, school supply giveaway, food and beverages tonight, and some giveaways and prizes. (14:44) So, don't miss out. We've got the details on that event if you just swing on over to our website at thebteamshow.com. Coming up in just a little bit, music from Blackfoot, Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty, Eddie Money, and, like I said, Ask Uncle Bobby, not too far away. (15:03) Stay with us. It's the B Team Morning Show on 100.3 KROCK. Stop dragging my heart around. It's Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty on this Tuesday morning. Hope everybody's doing well. I'm Schuyler Black. He's Bobby Dewrell. (15:19) The B Team Show brought to you by our friends at Stripes Pub & Grill in Novar, as well as Okaloosa Gas and Outcast Sushi in Miramar Beach. Well, a 24-year-old, Mary Esther Moron, was arrested early Sunday after deputies say he led law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit through Destin, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office. (15:41) Now, shortly after 1.25 a.m. Sunday, the Sheriff's Office received reports of a white BMW being recklessly driven eastbound on 98. Now, the agency said that witnesses reported the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and crossing over a raised median. (15:59) Deputies located the vehicle near Harbor Boulevard and attempted a traffic stop after observing additional reckless driving. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated away, allegedly reaching speeds up to 120 mph in a posted 55 mph zone while weaving through traffic, tailgating other vehicles, making aggressive lane changes, and forcing multiple drivers to brake suddenly or take evasive action to avoid crash. (16:28) The pursuit continued for almost four miles before the driver came to a stop in the median at 1334 Miracle Strip Parkway SE. He was taken into custody... Gee, you think? ...without further incident. Now, the driver, Roger Anthoniel Lawrence, was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement officers with disregard for the safety of persons or property and reckless driving. (16:58) Thankfully, no injuries were reported in this pursuit. So... Wow. That's just nuts, man. 120 mph in Destin. That's crazy. By the way, if you're looking to beat the heat this Saturday up in Crestview, between 10 and 2, you can stop by and get yourself a delicious ice cream sundae at the Crestview History Museum. (17:23) They've got the treat that you need, the museum's family-friendly second Saturday opening. Summer Sundays at the museum features several flavors of delicious ice cream with lots of delicious toppings. Enjoy your sundae as you discover exhibits around Crestview's colorful past. (17:38) So if you're looking for something to do up there this weekend, head down to the museum from 10 to 2 and get yourself a sundae on a Saturday. That sounds like a fun thing to do, honestly. It kind of does. It kind of does. Alright, are you excited to give advice here in a little bit? (17:53) I'm just, I can't wait. You're pumped? Yeah, just, yeah, I'm ready. Chomping at the bit? Just right there. Okay. We're six minutes out. Stick tight. Ask Uncle Bobby on the way. Joan Jett's on the way after Eddie Money now. (18:10) I want to go back. 100.3 KROCK, the classic rock station. Good morning, everybody. It's the B Team Morning Show. Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell. And time for your daily advice. That's right. (18:25) It's Ask Uncle Bobby, all brought to you by Hard Rock Bet. Yeah, yeah. You know, Miami begins its quest for another trophy on Wednesday against San Luis. And, you know, if you're like me, every soccer match day means building a same game parlay on Hard Rock Bet. (18:42) So maybe you like the goat to score twice or a winger to record an assist and Miami to score at least three goals. Well, however you draw it up, Hard Rock Bet gives you tons of ways to stack your picks into an epic same game parlay. (18:57) Cool. Now, you know me. I bet on soccer every day. All right. Today, Uncle Bobby. Yeah. (19:15) You hear from the treadmill trophy witness. Dear Uncle Bobby, I like to watch soccer. My friend group is full of overachievers and every hangout turns into a highlight reel of promotions, engagements, marathons, and side hustles. (19:36) And I'm not even jealous. I just feel like I'm falling behind. So how do I stop feeling crushed every time that we all catch up? Well, first of all, Schuyler, I'm sorry. Yeah. Hey, listen, you're not falling behind, okay? You're being audited. (19:52) And these aren't coffee catch-ups. No, they're quarterly earnings calls where currency is human worth and, well, a slide deck is everything. Of course you feel crushed. You walk into a room where your friends have turned existence into a leaderboard and you showed up with something disgusting, like a pulse in a nervous system. Here's the play. You don't compete. Competing is for people who believe the rules are fair. You refuse to validate the scoreboard. They announce a promotion, you blink. Slow. (20:25) You know, like you're watching a squirrel explain tax law. Then you say, calm as a judge. Nice. See, nothing else. No questions, no sparkle. Let the achievement hit the carpet and die right there, like a champagne cork with no party. And if they press for praise, well, you go weaponize nonchalance. See, you talk about something aggressively unmonetizable. (20:50) You know, a new sponge you like, a nap you took that changed your life. You know, look, you're not being boring. You're introducing a predator into their ecosystem. And that's irrelevant. See, it panics them. Their accomplishments need an audience the way a fire needs oxygen. (21:07) So you got to starve it. Okay. And if you need to level the field further, well, you deploy strategic confusion. See, you misremember details on purpose. Engagement. You ask how their sister is enjoying it. Marathon. You congratulate them on the triathlon. See, nothing makes an overachiever sweat like realizing their glitter didn't stick in your brain. (21:32) Because look, the secret is this. The facade is fragile. And you, my friend, are the thumb on the Jenga tower. So you sit there. You sip your coffee. You say, nice, like it's a period at the end of their whole personality. And the room will recalibrate around you. (21:53) It always does. Well, there you go. There's your response. Treadmill trophy witness. And of course, if you've got, you know, missed last week's Ask Uncle Bobby episodes, you can find them all at the bteamshow.com or do bob.com and get your exclusive do Bob merch. That's right. It's Ask Uncle Bobby weekday mornings at 745. All brought to you by Hard Rock Bet. That's right where I do all my soccer betting. 752 is the time. News is next. T-Rex bang a gong. It's eight minutes after eight o'clock on this beautiful Tuesday morning here in Fort Walton Beach, 75 degrees, a high today of 89. We'll check your forecast just a little bit. Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell. The B Team Morning Show is on the air, brought to you by our friends at Stripes Pub and Grill in Navarre, Okaloosa Gas at Outkast Sushi in Miramar Beach. Don't forget tonight, National Night Out with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office and Fort Walton Beach Police Department. That starts at 5 p.m. (23:01) Kiddos going back to school. Don't miss it. Five to seven tonight. Food, beverages, school supply giveaway and prizes and more at Beulah First Baptist Church. We've got the details on the events tab at our website, the bteamshow.com. Well, the last few days you've been seeing posts out there on social media. What's going on in Cinco Bayou? What's going on in Cinco? (23:26) Well, Okaloosa County and the Department of Health are investigating an abnormal discoloration and odor in Cinco between Beale and Eglin right here in Fort Walton. Now, the investigation began Sunday after reports by residents. County Commissioner Trey Goodwin reported a strong sulfur smell from the bayou and saw wildlife struggling in the water. Goodwin says the county and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection have both collected water samples and now we're just waiting on the results. Now, Sunday morning, I noticed a smell that had a very heavy sulfur characteristic, said Goodwin, and immediately got on the phone with Okaloosa County Water and Sewer Director and we started the process of trying to triage what's happening. Now, on Sunday afternoon, numerous Okaloosa County and City of Fort Walton Beach entities went out to assess the bayou and we were able to engage in tourism development. Department said Goodwin, they mobilized the biology team, the marine sciences team to come and take water samples and they took at least four water samples at various locations to try and determine first oxygen levels, which were extremely low and explain that the fish and wildlife stress of what we're seeing. Now, Goodwin said fish were floating belly up, crabs, eels and bottom feeding fish were making their way to the surface. Flounder were swimming up and trying to beach themselves, crabs coming out of the water, eels were climbing up the sea walls. So, yeah, it's very strange. It could just be low oxygen levels, but I don't know, you got murky, murky water. (25:08) Yeah, it's murky and I heard a couple of people talk about they've thought, you know, just be low oxygen or whatever. But that happens in stagnant water, right? That happens in like ponds, stuff like that where when you don't get rainfall or you don't get, I can't imagine that Chula Vista Bayou would be that way provided all the rain that we've had recently and the rain that's been north of us with the watershed coming down. I mean, there's plenty of movement there. You know what I mean? (25:37) Yeah, yeah. Well, Chula Vista last week had the sewage leak. This week, Cinco, it's got this murky water, this strong sulfur smell, but yeah, we had rain over the weekend. Yeah, yeah. So, it doesn't make sense to me unless it's some kind of runoff. Somebody put something in there, fertilized their lawn somehow or some massive amounts of fertilizer and got into the water. (26:06) Kind of sad, though. You hate seeing all the marine life struggling and dying right now. So, hopefully they figure out the cause of what's going on at Cinco and figure out a solution on how to fix it soon. But anyway, that was one of the stories this morning from Channel 3 WEAR over in Pensacola. All right, we've got a look at your forecast coming up in just a little bit. We'll get you caught up on what to expect today and throughout the mid-portion of your work week. Schuyler Black and Bobby Durrell, the B Team Morning Show on 100.3 KROCK, the classic Rock State. (26:43) Yellow, ma-ma-ma-bell on a Tuesday morning. Beautiful sunshine here in south Okaloosa County. Schuyler Black and Bobby Durrell, the B Team Morning Show is on the air. Brought to you by our friends at Stripes Pub and Grill in Navarre, as well as Okaloosa Gas at Outkast Sushi in Miramar Beach. Also, don't miss our friends at Stripes' own La Sala Event Center in Navarre, and they've got another great comedy show coming up on Saturday, August 29th. Three comedians that evening. Tickets start at $36. They'll have a food truck on site and a cash bar indoors. Don't miss out. Comedy night, August 29th. That is three weeks from this coming Saturday at La Sala Event Center in Navarre, and we've got the link to buy those tickets online at thebteamshow.com. (27:32) Yep. Well, much of Gen Z have parents that were born and raised in the 70s and 80s, and they're no strangers to hearing things from that generation that don't resonate with them at all. Here's phrases that Gen Xers say that make Gen Zers, their kids, roll their eyes. (27:51) Well, that's just how it's always been. Yep. Or, just deal with it. Mm-hmm. If you go to college, you'll get a job. Nah, I've never said that crap. That one is BS. It's all because of social media. (28:07) Mm-hmm. You need to be more realistic. I can hear Bobby saying this one. I don't like listening to today's new music. Number seven, everyone's so sensitive nowadays. (28:23) Mm-hmm. And number eight, things were different back in my day. Yeah. Those are eight phrases that Gen Z just doesn't like to hear from mom and dad. I don't know that I've, I don't, yeah. (28:38) Not ones that you usually say? No. Usually some variation of STFU. Well, that's a little more brash than these, they provided. (28:54) Suck it up, buttercup. Yeah. I think, yeah, Bobby's STFU is what they have for number seven. Everyone's so sensitive nowadays. I don't care. I don't, I mean, to complain about it indicates that you care that they are. I don't, I don't care. It hasn't, hasn't changed who I am. (29:16) Yeah. You're not there with that one. No. Here's their description on number seven. Everyone's so sensitive nowadays. People have always been sensitive and we're naturally emotional creatures, but Gen Z is simply more aware of how deeply words can impact people and how they shape what we as a collective perceive as acceptable and unacceptable. (29:37) You know who says that? You know who says words hurt? Idiots. I've said this before. You know who says words hurt? The people that say words hurt are the ones that have never been punched in the face. Because I tell you what, you get punched in the face one time, you will realize how much words don't hurt. (29:56) Yeah. They've never had a black eye, have they? I'm willing to help them. Okay. Well, Bobby's offering a therapy session. It's a service. I'm willing to help. All part of Dewrell coaching. (30:12) That's right. Let him be your life coach. That's right. I'll make, you will not say words hurt again. It's 8 27. We'll take a break and look at your forecast is coming up. CCR, Toto, Bon Jovi and more. (30:29) The final half hour of the B Team show this morning on the way on 100.3 KROCK. Bon Jovi on the classic rock station. 100.3 KROCK. It's the B Team Morning Show. Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell brought to you by our friends as Stripes Pub and Grill in Navarre, Okaloosa Gas and Outkast Sushi in Miramar Beach. (30:48) I don't know if you saw this yesterday morning, but a small plane made an emergency landing on I-10 Eastbound in Pensacola. I didn't, I didn't, I didn't get a chance to read it, but I saw the picture. Yeah. So it happened just before 10 o'clock yesterday morning, a near mile marker 14th, which is between Davis highway and a scenic highway. (31:09) Now, according to the Scambia County Sheriff's office, a pilot and flight student reported mechanical issues, which forced an emergency landing on the interstate. Miraculously, there was no traffic at the spot where the plane actually came down to the ground. And a FHP says the aircraft suffered engine failure during the flight. (31:29) No injuries were reported. Now truck driver, Eric Jordan captured dash cam video of the plane, making it to landing on the highway and video shows the plane just fly underneath the overhead sign structure before it hits the open highway. (31:44) Oh goodness. Yeah. So bystanders and witnesses said they just could not believe what was happening and air traffic control audio obtained by a channel three revealed that the pilot reported the smell of burning oil in the cockpit. And he said, we're not going to make the airport. (32:00) We're going down on I-10. Now the, the plane was a Piper Cherokee. So I've got my own reservations about Pipers. I'll tell you what my dad said. People that own Pipers about, about people that own Pipers off. Yeah. Yeah. It wasn't very complimentary. (32:17) First company I worked for, we had a Saratoga and a Navajo. Both Pipers. And a Manitogs. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I can't, I can't say what my dad would say on the air. Well, I can, but I don't want to pay the fine. Yeah. (32:33) Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Stick tight. I'll look at your local news coming up before Bobby and I sign off and get ready for the encore hour here at nine o'clock right now. White snake.
