MidSouth Bank Summer Fair is a family-friendly community event hosted by MidSouth Bank at 768 Beal Parkway on Friday, June 12, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The fair encourages children to learn about saving money while families enjoy carnival games, prizes, food, ice cream, and other summer activities. Attendees who open or deposit into a child’s savings account will be entered into a drawing to win a $50 deposit, and new accounts will receive a free piggy bank as part of the celebration.

A gala dinner is scheduled for June 12 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Rigdon Center, 1958 Lewis Turner Blvd. in Fort Walton Beach, featuring a 1776 reenactment and a patriotic drone show beginning at 8:45 p.m. The evening will offer VIP seating for the drone display, along with a social hour, formal dinner, live reenactment, and a celebration with music and dancing. Organizers are encouraging both individuals and businesses to participate in the event, which honors “The 56,” the signers of the Declaration of Independence, recognized as a diverse group of early American figures ranging from political leaders and merchants to farmers, scientists, and ministers. This live Metabolic Reset event will take place on June 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and is hosted by Tim and Karen Rouen. The event focuses on the future of health and wellness, exploring how metabolic health may impact common concerns such as fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, anxiety, cravings, poor sleep, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, and insulin resistance. The Krewe of Bowlegs is preparing for one of Fort Walton Beach’s most anticipated traditions—the annual Coronation Pageant, where the identity of the next Captain Billy Bowlegs will finally be revealed after months of secrecy. The event marks the transition from the outgoing pirate court to a new leadership team, with the unmasking of the new Captain Billy, his Queen, First Mate, Mistress, Honor Guard, and Children of the Court. Following a successful pirate festival season and more than seven decades of Bowlegs history, the coronation celebrates the organization’s deep roots in the community and launches a new year of appearances, charitable activities, and pirate-themed festivities. Residents and visitors can look forward to an evening of pageantry, tradition, and surprise as the newest captain takes the helm and begins the next chapter in the storied legacy of the Krewe of Bowlegs.
