**National Candy Day & the Council Coup: How a Radio Host Became Fort Walton's Third-Place Councilman**

Description

We dragged democracy through the wringer, crowned a new governor by a margin so thin you'd need a microscope, and then pivoted to the real crisis—whether the McRib actually contains rib meat (spoiler: it doesn't, but the lawsuit does).

Show Notes

Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell kicked off their post-election Wednesday morning on 100.3 KROCK, Fort Walton Beach's classic rock station, with the only news that truly matters: National Candy Day. Because nothing says "functional adult" like celebrating cavities and pretending fun-size is an actual serving suggestion. We dove headfirst into the sugar-coated chaos—permission to eat like a raccoon in a convenience store aisle while your dentist quietly weeps. Also on deck: National Chicken Lady Day, honoring that one woman in every town who shows up with suspicious confidence, a tote bag that smells like feed, and exactly one too many opinions about heritage breeds. Then there's National Skeptic's Day, the holiday for doubting everything except your own podcast-fueled certainty. And finally, Use Your Common Sense Day—a sticky note on humanity's forehead that says "stop touching the hot stove."

Election results rolled in overnight, and Florida narrowly elected Byron Donalds as governor over David Jolly—razor-thin margin, folks, and if it weren't for the Panhandle's Central Time Zone votes, we'd be telling a very different story. Locally, Fort Walton Beach City Council saw Tyler Capilotti, Denise Durker, Schuyler Black, and Matt Turpin claim the four open seats out of ten candidates. The Okaloosa County half-cent sales tax for infrastructure passed easily (69-31%), and Jerry Buckman edged out J.D. Peacock for the School Board District 1 seat. Schuyler—who stayed conspicuously neutral on-air for five months—finally took a victory lap, thanking supporters and noting that "the will of the people has spoken." (We've never heard that phrase before, Bobby. Very original.)

Tonight's the big rivalry: Fort Walton Vikings (3-6) versus Choctaw Indians (6-2), kicking off at 6 p.m. We'll carry it live on sister station 94.3 FTW. A fish fry fundraiser for Vikings head coach Josh Pulliam—currently battling cancer and traveling to MD Anderson for treatment—raised about four grand for his family. Community love in action, folks. Meanwhile, Stripes Pub & Grill in Navarre remains the go-to spot for watching college football (Bama-LSU, OU-Florida this Saturday), Okaloosa Gas keeps your tank full, and OutKast Sushi in Miramar Beach keeps your belly happy. Speaking of food: the 30A Barbecue Festival hits Grand Boulevard Friday evening (5:30-8:30), featuring unlimited samples from 18 vendors, complimentary beer and wine, and live music. Seventy bucks gets you in—details at thebteamshow.com.

In "Ask Uncle Bobby" (brought to you by Hard Rock Bet, Florida's only legal sportsbook), we tackled the post-hangout photo committee problem: that friend who turns every casual dinner into a shared album with homework assignments. Uncle Bobby's advice? "Friendship is not an exhibit hall, and you are not the docent for hummus." Translation: politely decline, ignore the links, and remember that receipts are useful—but no normal person frames one. Also: a Wisconsin woman named Tequila was busted driving the wrong way on the highway with an open bottle of Don Julio. Felony charges incoming. Nominative determinism strikes again. And McDonald's is facing a class-action lawsuit over the McRib—customers claim the name, shape, and price imply real rib meat, which allegedly ain't in there. We've never been McRib guys, but hey, if you want actual barbecue, see you Friday at Grand Boulevard.

Friday morning, we're broadcasting live from First Friday Coffee (7-9 a.m.) at First Baptist Church downtown, chatting with local business owners, civic leaders, and nonprofits. Free coffee courtesy of Florida Place Food Trucks and Mr. Tom Tona. Next Saturday, Fort Walton Beach PD's wellness canine Milo turns two—birthday bash from 10-2 at The Landing, with food trucks, vendors, music, and pup contests. And next Wednesday is the Mary Esther Veterans Day Parade, kicking off at 1 p.m. after morning festivities at Santa Rosa Mall. Full election results are live now at emeraldcoastconnected.com, and everything else we talked about—national holidays, Ask Uncle Bobby archives, show on demand—lives at thebteamshow.com. Keep your standards low, your dentist on standby, and never settle for the ordinary. The B Team is out.

(00:01) Here's today's B Team Redux. 100.3 KROCK, good morning everybody. Welcome to Hump Day Wednesday. It is November 4th. I'm Schuyler Black. He is Bobby Dewrell. The B Team Morning Show back on the air after Election Day. (00:16) We'll work through some results here in just a little while. But quite honestly, election results are not that important. The most important thing to start out the day with is looking at today's National Day calendar. And that is how we're going to open things up with the fact that today is National Candy Day. (00:34) That's right, because we needed a holiday to celebrate bribery cavities and grown adults pretending fun size is a serving suggestion. Well, how much did you eat for Halloween last weekend? Absolutely none. Oh, diabetes. That's right. National Candy Day is the annual reminder that we're a country of grown adults who can pay taxes, operate heavy machinery, and, well, still lose a fist fight with a bowl of fun-sized sugar. (00:57) It's not a holiday so much as permission slip from society to eat like a raccoon in a convenient store aisle and call it self-care. You're supposed to celebrate by buying candy you don't need, sharing it with people you barely tolerate, and pretending nostalgia is a food group. (01:13) So keep your standards low and your dentist on standby because you're just getting warmed up. There you have it. It's National Candy Day, so let that tooth decay and rot have at it. Hey, coming up on Friday, it's the next First Friday Coffee Monthly Fort Walton Chamber Get-Together. (01:32) It starts at 7 o'clock down at First Baptist Church in downtown Fort Walton Beach. Bobby and I will be out there broadcasting live on location, chatting with local business owners, nonprofits, local organizations, and civic leaders as well, talking about all the great things that are planned here in Fort Walton and the surrounding area for the next month. (01:52) So don't miss out on First Friday Coffee coming up on Friday morning with the B Team live right here on 100.3 KROCK. Music now from David Bowie. Yellow ma-ma-ma bell on 100.3 KROCK. (02:10) It is Wednesday morning. Happy Hump Day, everybody. Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell. Don't miss out on the 30A Barbecue Festival coming up on Friday evening starting at 5.30 at the North Lawn at Grand Boulevard out there in Miramar Beach, Sandestan area. (02:27) Guests can enjoy unlimited barbecue samples from 18 local and regional eateries. Then vote for your favorites and sip complimentary beer and wine while enjoying live music from Brent Shaw and headliner River Dan. Should be a great evening. (02:43) Tickets are available now. Seventy dollars. You can buy them online. We've got the link to do so. Just go to our website, thebteamshow.com, and click on the events tab. The 30A Barbecue Festival is scheduled Friday night, 5.30 until 8.30 out at Sandestan. (03:00) And you might have a little smoked chicken out there as well. Today is National Chicken Lady Day. That's right, because apparently we've honored every real hero already. So now we're just crowning someone for owning a bird with anxiety. It's worth it. (03:15) Yeah. Yeah, why not? It's worth it. National Chicken Lady Day is that special little square on the calendar where we all pretend it makes perfect sense to honor the woman who shows up with suspicious confidence, a tote bag that smells like feed, knew exactly one too many opinions about heritage breeds. (03:33) You know, it's not about chickens. Not really. It's about commitment to a lifestyle that says, I could have chosen peace, but I picked breaks and chaos. Mm-hmm. Yeah. So today we nod respectfully while she explains egg production like it's a stock market. (03:48) And we act surprised when she starts naming birds like they're members of a rock band. So play along. Keep your hands clean. And remember, every town's got a chicken lady. There you go. She's always recruiting. That's a real thing, National Chicken Lady Day. And why is it a real thing? (04:03) Because we just talked about it. That's right. We've got two more national holidays to get to. We encourage you to stay with us. A look at your marine forecast is coming up next right here on the B Team Morning Show with 100.3-KROCK. I'm about to rock. Where do you think you're going? (04:19) More rock. Next. 100.3-KROCK. Pat Benatar and a heartbreaker on 100.3-KROCK, the classic rock station. This is the B Team Morning Show. Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell brought to you by our friends at Stripes Pub & Grill in Navarre, Okaloosa Gas and Outkast Sushi in Miramar Beach. (04:39) Stripes is a great spot to watch some big college football matchups. And there's a big one in the SEC, No. 9 Bama, No. 15 LSU in Baton Rouge Saturday afternoon, 2.30 kickoff. We'll carry that on 103.7, the ticket, followed by a big one in the Swamp, OU and Florida. (04:58) The Gators, yeah, on a little bit of a slide right now. And they're looking for a W at home to get to bowl eligibility. 6.45 kickoff Saturday night on 103.7, the ticket. (05:13) Florida State in their first game without now-fired head coach Mike Norvell. $50 million Richard Mike Norvell. That's right. He is without the team now. Just living hand-to-mouth. (05:29) Yeah, paycheck to paycheck. Poor kid. Right, poor guy. How's he going to support his family? 11 o'clock kickoff Saturday morning as the Seminoles are on the road at Boston College. We'll carry that one for you Saturday morning on 94.3 FTW. (05:44) I mean, now that he's going to be home all the time with that $25 million. Poor guy. Yeah. Hope he can afford to pay his light bill this month. Well, you know, like I said, he'll just be home alone with $25 million. Yeah, I'll bet he's going to be home alone. (05:59) He's going to be home alone. I'm sure that the phone's ringing now. Well, I'm just figuring with this time off now, he's probably going to realize that he was always coaching football because he didn't care for his wife, so she's going to get half his dough. That's right, it's a $50 million payout, but he gets $25. (06:16) Fair enough. And then when you figure what the IRS is going to take, I mean, he'd just be sitting around with barely $15 million. I mean, poor guy. I don't know how he's going to live. Yeah, poor guy. Well, today on the National Day calendar, we have our third one. (06:32) It's called National Skeptic's Day. Yeah, because nothing says holiday like celebrating doubt, right? Right! Yeah, I'd congratulate it, but I'm not convinced it exists. See what I did there? No, you didn't. No, I didn't. No, I didn't. Sorry. (06:47) National Skeptic's Day is that special little holiday where everyone pretends they're hard-nosed truth-seeker while sharing a screenshot of a screenshot like it's a courtroom evidence. You know, look, the whole point is to doubt everything. Ads, politicians, your co-workers, gluten intolerance, and especially anything that starts with study show. (07:06) But somehow still act shocked when the internet lies to you again. You know, it's a celebration of asking for proof, then immediately rejecting that proof because the front looks suspicious and the guy presenting it has a podcast. So take the day to practice healthy skepticism, hydrate, and remember, if you're absolutely certain you're right, congratulations. (07:26) You're the cautionary tale, Mark Grimlin. Just call him out. National Skeptic's Day. Yeah, there's always got a conspiracy there. It's the B Team Morning Show on a hump day Wednesday. Stick tight. Look at local news coming up in just a little bit. (07:42) Right now, Scorpion's B Team Morning Show. B Team Morning Show. Schuyler Black and Bobby Durrell brought to you by Stripes Pub and Grill in Navarre. Okaloosa Gas and Outkast Sushi in Miramar Beach. And coming up here in just a little bit, about an hour from now, we're going to, you know, chat with Uncle Bobby. (08:01) And he's going to give advice, which is so fitting because today also happens to be Use Your Common Sense Day. Yeah, finally a holiday so rare it comes with an instruction manual because apparently thinking doesn't come pre-installed anymore. No, it doesn't. No, it does not. I'm really sorry. (08:16) I wish you could celebrate this one, Schuyler. I feel for you. What the hell? How did I get to be a part of this? Use Your Common Sense Day is that cute little calendar holiday that tries to guilt trip grown adults into doing what they should have been doing since middle school. (08:31) Yeah, thinking before acting. You know, it's not a miracle. It's a reminder, like a sticky note on humanity's forehead that says stop touching the hot stove and acting surprised. You know, the idea is simple. Make one decent decision on purpose, preferably before lunch, and see if your life improves or at least stops smoking. (08:49) And if you're wondering who decides what counts as common sense, well, congratulations. You've already failed the first quiz. There you go. It is called Use Your Common Sense Day. I think we're all ready for that now that we're past Election Day. Yeah. We're not getting bombarded and driven nuts by constant ads and commercials and solicitations. (09:09) It's true. You know, on Monday, like 7 o'clock at night, I got this text. Oh, we see that you're one of the registered voters that's not yet voted. And my response was, no, no crap. (09:25) Election Day's tomorrow. There's this big push to get everyone to vote early. I don't like it. But how do these other countries get everyone to vote on one day and have no problem with that? You know, I'm going to vote on the day of because, you know, I think the best situation to that was Fetterman, right? (09:45) Yeah. 90% of the people voted, and then he tried to debate Oz, and they were like, aw, crap. And sadly, that is the voice of reason in the Democrat Party. (10:00) It's true. That's true. Which makes the Democrats even more upset. Hey, we're going to take a break and pay a couple bills. A look at local news is coming up. The seven o'clock hour just around the corner. Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell on 100.3 KROCK. (10:15) Stand by for more rock. 100.3 KROCK. Your Omni Broadcasting News is brought to you by McCaskill & Company, the Emerald Coast's finest jeweler. I'm Dan Diamond. The midterm general election results are in and Florida has a new governor, Byron Donalds. He defeated David Jolly in a very close race. (10:35) Ashley Moody retains her position as Florida senator. Jimmy Petronas is reelected to represent District one in Congress, and Pat Meaney is reelected to the state representative District four. In the race for Fort Walton Beach City Council, Tyler Cappelletti, Denise Durker, Schuyler Black and Matt Turpin were all elected out of the 10 running for the four positions. (10:57) Amendment number three was passed by Florida voters and homesteading property tax exemptions will be increased. And the half cent sales tax for Okaloosa County infrastructure was extended by 10 years to sunset in 2038. And that is your Omni Broadcasting News sponsored by McCaskill & Company. (11:15) I'm Dan Diamond. There's the Allman Brothers and Midnight Rider on the classic rock station, 100.3 KROCK. Good morning, Emerald Coast. How are you? Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell. (11:31) It is the B Team Morning Show, 7-11, Wednesday, 11-4, November 4th. And Florida has elected a new governor. Byron Donalds will be Florida's next governor and taking his position in January, succeeding Ron DeSantis. (11:51) But it was a razor thin gubernatorial election here in the Sunshine State. And folks, if it weren't for the Central Time Zone, it weren't for the Western Panhandle. David Jolly would be your next governor. Yeah. So overall, on the statewide races, a little bit concerning. (12:12) It was way closer than I thought it was going to be nationwide last night. My personal opinion, an absolute disaster. So, but we'll dive into some of the the local election results as well. (12:30) Yeah. Other news this morning, we're going to talk about the game that happens tonight. That's right. Fort Walton and Choctaw. Yeah. Facing off. It's coming up. Mm hmm. Vikings or the Indians, which side do you fall on? (12:47) We'll carry the game tonight on 94-3 FTW, but we'll give you a little preview of tonight's matchup. Also, last night was the fish fry for Fort Walton Beach head football coach Josh Pulliam and his family. Now, Coach Pulliam's going through some cancer treatments right now and families having to travel a lot to MD Anderson. (13:08) And while he's going through these various treatments, so a fish fry fundraiser was set up last night and raised about four thousand dollars for the family. So if you were a part of that, thank you so much for your contribution. How are you doing, Mr. (13:24) Durrell? I am. I am here. Yeah. Yeah, I am. I'm still tired. Well, last night was a night. Yeah, that is true. That is true. Congratulations, sir. Thank you. Thank you. We'll dive into some some local election stuff here in just a little bit. (13:40) But yeah, it was a wild night. ZZ Top. This is Tush on one hundred point three KROCK. It's The B Team. The classic rock station. Good morning, everybody. I'm scatter black. He's Bobby Durrell. This is The B Team morning show brought to you by Stripes Pub and Grill in Navarre, as well as Okaloosa Gas and Outkast Sushi in Miramar Beach. (14:04) Had some rain push through our area early this morning. It's sunshine now and seventy four degrees a high today of 80 before the fall temps of the low 70s hit us by the weekend. Well, Bobby, last night, election night, we kind of know the trends that happen statewide and on a national level. (14:26) But here locally, a lot of important elections. The Okaloosa County have sent cert surtax for infrastructure easily passed 69 percent to 31 percent. There were several city council races last night. (14:44) Crestview City Council Ward number one, Dusty Allison. The incumbent takes down Frederick Butts. Sixty three thirty seven in Ward two in Crestview. Sylvester Echols, with 40 percent of the vote, beats out April Rensich and Luis Rodriguez, who were second and third, respectively. (15:05) For Destin City Council incumbent Chad Morgan, John Stevens and Rodney Brayden. All three incumbents reelected. And the challenger, Ross Haynes, finishes in fourth with 20 percent of the vote. (15:21) Now here in Fort Walton Beach. Tyler Capilotti came in first. There are four seats available and the top four vote getters are elected. Tyler Capilotti with twenty six hundred sixty seven votes or 13 percent of the electorate. (15:38) Denise Durker second with twenty five hundred twenty nine votes. Twelve percent of the electorate. Schuyler Black, twenty three seventy seven. Twelve percent of the electorate in third. And Matt Turpin is fourth, getting that final seat. Eleven percent of the electorate. Twenty two hundred eighty eight votes. (15:54) Brandon Bishop finished fifth, respectively. Payne Walker was sixth. Gloria Deberry was seventh. Jeffrey Pendleton was eighth. Steve Caldarelli was ninth. And Glenn Guerin was 10th in the running. So with all that being said, Bobby, I have tried to make a very conscious effort of refraining from from city election talk. (16:18) Yeah, because I made the choice five months ago to throw my hat in the ring and run. And there are FCC regulations that, you know, we do need to adhere to. And I thought out of respect for the other candidates, I could have gone on here and talked and given you my piece of, you know, my my two cents every single day. (16:40) But I have tried to remain neutral on the air as much as I could. But I just want to say now you want to do a victory lap. Well, I just want to say thank you to everyone out there that that supported me. You know, whether it was just a simple text or phone call or a message of Facebook share, if you were out there door knocking for me or if you donated to my campaign, truly appreciate it. (17:05) I love this town. So excited to be elected for the next four years. But I also think last night, Bobby, your your local Fort Walton Beach City Council election, the will of the people has spoken. Oh, yeah. And the pendulum has swung. (17:21) Wow. That's a that's an interesting turn of phrase. Have you have you heard that somewhere before? I don't I don't believe I have. That's a very unique turn of phrase. I'm surprised that you would you would say something like that. The will of the people has spoken. (17:36) That's right. You feel like you need a little rubber chicken or something. Now, hey, I do want to I do want to give some some some love and some credit to Brandon Bishop and Jeff Pendleton. They both reached out to me last night to congratulate and concede. (17:55) Those are the only two challengers in the election that did not win that I heard from. Some people have class. Right. You said it. But congratulations to Brandon and Jeff. (18:10) I think they both ran respectable, very respectable races. Brandon was out there, you know, hitting the pavement as hard as anybody. And he came in fifth. He was he was just one hundred and forty votes behind that fourth and final spot. (18:27) So he ran an incredible. It was actually quite, quite tight in a lot of places watching and looking as those results came in, it was it was definitely a close race for for for many. Yep, it certainly was. But there's not so much others. (18:43) Not so much that that is true. Also, another big local election last night was the Okaloosa County School Board District one seat. And Jerry Buckman defeats J.D. Peacock, 52 percent of the vote going to Buckman, 48 for Peacock, thirty four thousand eight hundred nineteen total votes for Jerry Buckman, J.D. (19:06) Peacock, thirty two thousand four hundred eighty five. That was a very interesting race, sometimes contentious as well. But congratulations to Mr. Buckman and on his win and congratulations to Mr. Peacock on running a fight campaign as well. (19:22) So there's a look at some some local results from last night. Yeah. And we're going to get all those published out on Emerald Coast Connected now as we speak. So awesome. Having some some fun as I'm trying to do this and write stories. And you look like a you kind of look like a juggler. (19:41) Right. I feel like a juggler right now. But but yeah, I want to try to get that that information out there to you guys. So, you know, get a chance run on over. Check out Emerald Coast Connected. It's it's about 10 stories that are running up. I'm trying to trying to break it down into into each race for you. (19:56) So very good. Very good. All right. Hey. We'll get that going for you at emeraldcoastconnected.com here in just a bit so you can see full panel across the board how things shook down last night. But we're gonna take a break about 20 minutes from now. Ask Uncle Bobby will be in for your daily advice. Plus we'll talk about the game tonight, Fort Walton and Choctaw, in just a little bit. A look at your forecast is next on 100.3 KROCK. The classic rock station, 100.3 KROCK. It's 738, beautiful sunshine outside right now here at Fort Walton. A high today of 80. We're at 74 degrees right now. I mean, for the fourth day of November, could you ask for nicer weather? Uh, yeah. (20:39) You could. I could. Okay. I'm capable. Okay. I've seen me do it. You're a little picky, Dad. You're a little picky. Dude, it's been raining. Well, it was earlier this morning, but now the sun's out. I mean, this is a beautiful day. Just tears of pain. But, yeah, well, some folks, some folks are feeling the pain this morning. (21:01) Can you believe we are three weeks out from Thanksgiving now? Yes, I can. It's like, I can because my believer works. Well, okay, come on. Do we have to make everything so damn literal? You asked and I received. Yeah. Three weeks out from Thanksgiving, like I walked into a store, I believe I was in Kohl's the other day. I walked in and the freaking Christmas music is playing. (21:28) Oh, yeah. Yeah. You know, I was, I was kind of laughing about that this year too, because, uh, I think last year was the, uh, was the first time. I think it was last year. There was, uh, it's been very, very recently though that, uh, I had one year that like, I made it all the way to Christmas before I saw a Christmas ad. Right. Like I made it all the way through Thanksgiving. It was well into December and I was like, oh man, that's my first Christmas ad. It's not, not been the case this year. No. I've seen a few now. Oh man. They, they started hitting well before October and I was in a store the other day and I'm like, yep, there's all the Christmas crap. (22:06) Oh, there it is. So, uh, you know, I, I would think that would all be signs that the economy is rebounding and, and on the backswing, but, uh, you know, Hey, we made decisions to, to just destroy everything and flip it over because, you know, why would we want anything going well? It's yeah. On a national level yesterday and even, even statewide, it was wild. Yep. Bizarre. Yep. Absolutely. Absolutely. Bizarre. Um, six o'clock tonight is the game Choctaw and Fort Walton, the big rivalry matchup, uh, Fort Walton three and six overall this season. (22:46) But, you know, they've had two or three games where one play here could have changed the result. I feel like a head coach, Josh Williams got that program heading in the right direction. Uh, tonight, uh, Choctaw brings their six and two overall record in for the game. We'll carry it for you tonight on sister station, 94.3 F T W. Yes, sir. All right. Stay with us. Ask uncle Bobby coming up in about seven minutes. Your daily advice is on the way on The B Team morning show scatter black and Bobby Dewrell. This is 100.3 KROCK. And the music in the background tells us it's time for your daily advice. That's right. It's ask uncle Bobby brought to you by our friends at hard rock bet. Look, this college football season has been full of surprises. And this week's Slater ranked matchups is set to be the most Epic Saturday yet. So if you think, you know, how to, how it'll all go down, well then put your ball knowledge to the test on hard rock bet. (23:46) Florida's only legal sports book. It's offered by the Seminole tribe of Florida must be 21 and over physically present in Florida to wager terms and conditions apply concerned about your gambling. Well, call or text 1 8 3 3 play wise. And today, uncle Bobby, your question comes in from the post hangout clerk. They say, dear uncle Bobby, my friend is great in person. But after every dinner or hike or birthday or coffee, she creates a shared album and starts texting everyone to upload photos and then tag people and vote on which ones are postable. I like having memories, but I hate that every normal evening now comes with homework. How do I tell her I want to see without joining the photo committee? Well, see your, your friends built a tiny DMV inside a picnic basket, right? I mean, and that's the problem. You're not against pictures. Pictures are fine. One shot of everybody at the table, one shot of the trail, one accidental shot where somebody looks like they just received troubling news from a pharmacist, you know, beautiful. (24:50) It's human. It's done. But your friend does not want a memory. She wants a case file. See the evening no longer ends when people hug near their cars. It, it enters processing, upload the evidence, identify the witnesses, vote on the acceptable public version of Tuesday's nachos. (25:07) You know, a cup of coffee now has a paper trail thick enough to buy waterfront property. See, this is what the world has done to everybody, right? Work wants status updates. Banks want codes. Airports want shoes, your patience, and occasionally your will to live. The doctor makes you type the same information into a tablet you already gave him in 2019. And if you're, as if your spleen changes mailing address, right? Then, then we escape all that, sit down with friends, and somebody says, great, now let's all complete the social paperwork. Look, your friend's not a villain. She's been trained by the grand machine that says if an event is not sorted, tagged, polished, captioned, backed up, and made suitable for strangers with thumbs, it might as well have occurred in a cave. And that's nonsense. You were there. You laughed. You, you ate the fries. You watched the waiter move like every table had loaned him money. You know, this is the thing. The album is just a receipt. Receipts are useful, but no normal person frames one and says, remember when the subtotal had a journey? So tell her plainly, but before the next notification swarm starts chewing through the drywall, say, I love seeing you. I'm not doing the album jobs. If I take a picture I want to send, I will send it. Otherwise my part is being there. See, that's not mean. (26:35) That's a, that's a clean adult sentence, which is why it will hit the room. Like somebody dropped a wrench in a library. Then quit feeding the machine. When the link arrives, ignore it. When she nudges, don't perform an apology. Like you ran over her begonias. Say, had a great time. No pictures for me. Same words every time. Calm, friendly, dead as a doorknob. Eventually her little system will learn you are not a compatible device. She can keep the archive. You keep the evening. Friendship is not an exhibit hall and you are not the docent for humus. All right. (27:15) Uh, there is your response post hangout clerk.
