And as you walk into the room, the lights start to click on and they go, oh, by the way, this is our reptile center. Oh, well, I know you love snakes. (05:45) I reptiles. They don't mean like, like crocogators and those types of things that you could be okay with. No, they, they mean a whole room full of no pros. Yep. Yep. Yep. I don't think I'd do that. Yeah. I did not care for that. That was, that was the one part, uh, that was not, uh, Bobby, I would say. (06:01) I wasn't kosher with Bobby. That's right. I think you should, I think you should inform us. Uh, that, that is true. And, uh, it has been a morning of, uh, connectivity and, uh, technology, not quite science-y stuff, but, uh, you know, close enough, pretty much. I feel like that was supposed to be a segue. I was trying, I was trying, but then I looked over at Diane and all I could think of was that reptile room again. (08:28) Oh, Diane. He was on the air talking crap about you a little while ago. No, he didn't. He didn't. I just said, I just said it was a great place. I do. I do love the science center. And it was, gosh, it was probably almost a decade ago. Now you had already moved into the new space, right? (08:43) Right. Where you are. That's been 12 years. Yeah. So it was probably right after that, but I just remember going out. We were, uh, we were talking with, uh, I think maybe your director of development or something like that back then, uh, cause we were talking about trying to do some fundraising and stuff. And so we were getting a tour of the facility, which phenomenal facility. (08:58) I love it. I think everybody should go out. But what I was talking about is you kind of turn this one corner and then you go in this one room and all the lights are off. And then as you step in the room, they start turning the lights on. And then they said, oh, by the way, this is the reptile room, which is a polite way of saying this is the snake room and Bobby does not do snakes. (09:18) And so what everybody remembered about that is I turned the corner, took two steps in the room, saw the snakes and just backed out of the room and never said a word. And it's, it's so funny because people are either, um, black or white when it comes to snakes, they're either on or they're off and there's not a lot of gray area in there. (09:36) But I think the thing that's that my favorite part of that job is that when we get a snake out and we start talking about it and explaining, you know, the anatomy and how they work and how important they are to the ecosystem and, and people that like flips a switch. (09:52) And so you can see people that like, you know, we're like really hands off and back off office, but then you can see them like. The first Saturday of the month is always our Discover Science Saturday, so we always have special activities on that day. Our big event coming up in the month of September is our Women in Science and this is our 10th anniversary. So we're really excited about it. We're changing venues this year so that we can allow more guests to come. And it's September 22nd. It's a Tuesday night. It's going to be at Beachside Community Church. (12:56) It starts at 5.30. There's a ticket price for adults for $10, but students are free. We have five local women with STEM-related careers and they're going to get up there and talk about their journey, the type of work they do, what excites them, gets them up and motivated to head out into the workforce every day. And one of those is a UWF student and she was a biology major and now she's getting a master's in art. And so she is working on nature and the integration of animals and plants and ecosystems and she's got some incredible artwork that she's been doing and she's going to have it set up at the event. Did a school supply drive over there a couple of months ago. That was a great local event, but it did work, Bobby. We talked about Michelle and we talked about Lynn. So what we were doing is- Well, technically it was after I said Michelle that they showed up, but Lynn Fair didn't. We had to wait for the boss. (16:00) That's right. Yeah, I had to wait for the boss, but Lynn Fair with executive air where the air is always fair. That is correct. And executive. That's why they hired me is because it sounds catchy. Lynn Fair with executive air and seafoam roasting. And so I came to say hi and tell everybody can't find me at the other place. (16:21) You got to come over to executive air. You can come in. (16:36) So, but what I really want to talk about today is we're having a chili cook-off because you know how I like to bring fun to everything I do. And if you can bring fun to banking, you can bring fun to executive air and HVAC. So we're going to have a chili cook-off and it's on November 1st and I need cooks. And so they can email me, they can call me, but I need people that want to face off. I heard a rumor that Schuyler's going to be cooking for us. (17:09) Well, he threatens that a lot. He does. Yes. Yes. So, well, you know, he's doing it again and it's all to benefit one hopeful place. Yeah, he is. He's doing it again and no one died, you know, and now it is the skelly version. So, you know, it's a dangerously delicious chili cook-off. So I'm sure everybody's going to be great. (17:32) Nobody died. We did have a couple of public health notices. That's right. That's right. So, but what we're really doing is we're trying to benefit a very worthwhile cause because we're part of the community. We want to become even more a part of the community, support the community that we're part of. And so we are benefiting one hopeful place and I'll have Sherry say hi. (18:01) Oh, hi, Sherry. And, you know, hopefully with some of the changes that I've seen the president offer there, hopefully we'll drive that down a little bit, you know, because, you know, one of the proposals is one transfer during your college career period. (26:47) That would be very helpful. That would be huge. That would be huge, so. Well, it would give some parody back to some of the group of six schools that had historically competed well with the power conferences like Boise State and App State. (27:04) Well, you know, I think you gotta do one of two things. You either have to say, hey, this is college football and we're gonna regulate it and make sure it stays college football, or you remove the requirement to attend class and just make it a lower level of football and follow the British model that they do with soccer over there where you have teams and you relegate them down or, you know, pass them up. (27:27) Right. It's almost like a farm league, right? Yeah, exactly. So, I mean, you can be in any one of seven different leagues and they're all professional. And what's absolutely ridiculous is you look at LSU, you look at Lane Kiffin, right? And they've brought back, what, two or three guys that got cut off of NFL rosters this summer? (27:45) Which I still 100% disagree with. I mean, you made that choice. Yes. You made that choice, you went into that training and you couldn't cut it. And yeah, sorry, sorry, Bubba. And even some LSU fans are critical out there saying, come on, Lane, like you're, the drama that you brought at every stop you've made before is you're bringing it here. (28:04) Well, it's like, surprise, surprise. You deal with poop, you're going to get some on you, so. You get what you pay for. That's right, that's right. But anyway, college football really kicks off tomorrow. Just a heads up, folks. We're going to carry the Alabama game for you tomorrow morning against East Carolina on 103.7, the ticket. Schuyler Black and Bobby Dewrell, the B Team Morning Show live on location on the scene. Yeah, you know, I didn't, I never met Pink, but I did meet his brother, Blue. Huh? (31:02) Blue Floyd. Oh, good Lord. That was awful. I thought Pink, I mean, I want to understand Pink was, he was an okay guy. Was he? Yeah, I guess. Okay, Bobby, whatever you say, whatever you say. But we're wrapping up our live remote coverage this morning from the Monthly First Friday Coffee event that the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce always puts on. (31:27) That's right. That's right. It's been a morning. It's been an event. If you stuck with us all morning, you noticed we had a little connectivity issues first thing, but we got it worked out. We're now smooth sailing and cooking with gas. We are cooking with gas. Just in time to not be cooking with gas. (31:42) That's okay. Because in traditional B Team fashion, while everybody else gets the day off, Bobby and Schuyler are working. That's right. That's right. That's right. It's the start of a holiday weekend for everybody, but the B Team. That's right. That's right. So we've got coming up at nine o'clock, our History of Rock and Roll series that we've been running all year on the three-day weekends. (32:05) That always starts promptly at nine o'clock right after our show. That's right. So everybody else gets the day off, but not us. Maybe next year we can start it at 6 a.m. Everybody gets a four-day weekend, but us. But us. That's right. We do have an extended break because we are not going to be on the air next week. (32:25) That is true. Up in Cane Tuck. That is true. We're going to be wearing the other hats that we wear at times as the Bourbon with the Boys. We're going to be up there doing a series of barrel selections for Mike Kelly over at Beach Liquors. That's going to be a lot of fun. We're picking eight barrels at six different distilleries. (32:44) So that means, Schuyler, we're going to be sampling between 30 and 40 barrels over a three-day. That sounds like a blast. Does it? I hope you're ready for it. I have been excited for this trip for two months. (32:59) Well, and you've been doing your liver exercises, I hope. Liver calisthenics, yeah. Detoxing, all that fun stuff. Because you're about to tox the crap out of it. Well, it's going to be a great time going up there with a group of friends next week. (33:17) That's true. In about six to eight weeks, that's about how long it takes to get the barrels in. Maybe we'll have a little release party or something. Yeah, might do some sampling sessions and parties at some different establishments around the area. (33:51) Yeah, so stay tuned. If you're interested in bourbon, keep it poised here. We'll have more for you as we move along. And if you're not interested in bourbon, then change your mind. Then go to hell. That's your problem. That's your problem. Then go to hell. Weather-wise, it's going to be on the average side for this time of year, right? Yeah, but there was only some page somewhere that you could look at and know what it was going to be. (34:25) Yeah, what is that? What is that page? Anyway, we'll get there. We'll get there. It's not quite ready to go public yet. Oh, we'll see. But hey, yeah, it's supposed to be a fairly decent weekend. A little bit of rain this weekend. So watch out for that. I think tomorrow is the rainiest day there is all week. (34:44) I thought I saw like 54% chance coming around tomorrow. But it should be a good weekend out there. Otherwise, enjoy your time out there. Remember, that UV is out. It's still hot. I mean, it's still in the upper 80s. Feels like it's in the 90s. The UV is sticking around 9 to 10 all weekend long. (35:02) So that means you will crisp quickly. Lather up in the sunscreen. Get some hydration from time to time. That's right. Drink until you got to pee. Drink until you got to pee. And we're not just talking beer and liquor. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Drink some water.
