Bad advice for good people.
As heard on the B-Team Morning Show
Each weekday, some poor soul writes in for help. Uncle Bobby gives them the worst advice we can legally put on the air.
October 9 · Today's Letter
Dear Uncle Bobby,
My company just announced a fourth reorg in three years. I have a new manager I have never met, my team now has a three-letter name, but my actual day-to-day work is exactly the same as it was last week. How am I supposed to treat this like it matters?

Holiday #1 of 4
Curious Events Day
Today is Curious Events Day, which seems appropriate considering Mother Nature apparently looked at the Gulf Coast and said, “You know what this place needs? A little more character development.”
We've got a hurricane threatening to park its ass on top of us, weather models that change their minds more often than a politician in an election year, and people standing in grocery stores trying to decide whether they need bottled water, plywood, or another case of beer.
And here's the curious part. We live in a place where a storm can be hundreds of miles away, and somebody's already bought every loaf of bread in three counties. We can put a man on the moon, perform surgery with robots, and have artificial intelligence write love letters, but apparently we still can't agree where a giant spinning ball of atmospheric violence is going to be on Tuesday.
So happy Curious Events Day. Keep an eye on the forecast, an ear on the authorities, and your expectations somewhere below sea level.
Because around here, the difference between a natural disaster and a three-day drinking holiday is about 40 miles of storm track.
