Ask Uncle Bobby

Bad advice for good people.

As heard on the B-Team Morning Show

Each weekday, some poor soul writes in for help. Uncle Bobby gives them the worst advice we can legally put on the air.

October 9 · Today's Letter

Dear Uncle Bobby,

I bought a new car and everything is on a touchscreen. To change the fan I have to tap through menus, and the heated seats are installed but they only work if I pay a monthly subscription. How do I deal with this without losing my mind?

Today's Holidays

Celebrate the weird stuff. We do.

Holiday #1 of 4

National Hero Day

National Hero Day is that special little square on the calendar where we all agree to clap for “heroes” in the abstract, because naming names gets complicated and somebody always brings up a guy with a questionable podcast. It’s a holiday built on good intentions, vague definitions, and the comforting belief that bravery is something other people do while we reheat leftovers and pretend we’d totally run into the burning building if our knees weren’t acting up. You’re supposed to honor the folks who show up when it counts—first responders, caregivers, teachers, the aunt who can fix anything with duct tape and spite—without turning it into a weird competition or a corporate hashtag parade. Anyway, wipe the sarcasm off your shoes at the door, because we’re about to talk heroism, and I promise it won’t stay respectful for long.
