Niceville To Host Ribbon Cutting For Old Town Landing

Get The Coast— The City of Niceville will celebrate the completion of the new Old Town Landing Dock and Pier with a public grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on Oct. 6. Residents, local businesses, community leaders, and visitors are invited to attend, and no RSVP is required. The dock and pier represent the first phase of the Niceville Community Redevelopment Agency’s broader plan to rehabilitate and revitalize the Niceville Landing area. The project was funded through the Niceville CRA, Okaloosa County Tourist Development funds, and a Florida Boating Improvement Grant from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. City officials say the new waterfront space will provide opportunities for residents to gather and enjoy the area while also encouraging increased activity and economic opportunities for local businesses.

Ask Uncle Bobby

Bad advice for good people.

As heard on the B-Team Morning Show

Each weekday, some poor soul writes in for help. Uncle Bobby gives them the worst advice we can legally put on the air.

September 29 · Today's Letter

Dear Uncle Bobby,

It is review season again and I have to rate myself one to five on things like embodies our values and demonstrates growth mindset. If I score myself high I look arrogant, if I score myself low it lives in the file forever. What am I supposed to do?

Today's Holidays

Celebrate the weird stuff. We do.

Holiday #1 of 4

Gold Lining Day

Gold Lining Day is that annual group hallucination where we all agree to hunt for the “good” in whatever dumpster fire we’ve been marinating in, like optimism is a coupon you forgot to use. The rules are simple: find the silver lining, but make it gold, because apparently we’re not just coping anymore—we’re doing luxury coping. People swap stories, force gratitude through clenched teeth, and pretend their character development didn’t come with property damage. It’s absurd on purpose, which is the only kind of tradition I trust, and it’s here to remind you that even rock bottom has a gift shop if you look hard enough.
