Okaloosa Incorporated Cities Educate Voters On Upcoming Property Tax Amendment

Get The CoastOkaloosa County and its municipalities are working together to educate residents about Amendment 3, a proposed constitutional measure that will appear on the November 3, 2026, ballot and would increase Florida’s homestead exemption for primary residences to $150,000 in 2027 and $250,000 in 2028, excluding school district taxes. Local officials are concerned that reducing property tax revenue could significantly affect funding for essential services such as police, fire protection, libraries, parks, roads and other community programs, potentially forcing governments to raise other taxes or fees, increase millage rates or reduce services. To help voters understand the proposal and its potential consequences, county and municipal staff are sharing information through a dedicated website, social media and community presentations while encouraging residents to attend budget meetings, review available resources and make informed decisions before voting.

Holiday #1 of 4

Kiss and Make Up Day

Kiss and Make Up Day is that little square on the calendar that shows up like an overdue apology: awkward, necessary, and somehow still inconvenient. The premise is simple—stop clutching your grudge like it’s a family heirloom, put your ego down gently, and go patch the hole you punched in somebody’s week. It’s not about romance; it’s about survival, because nobody wins a cold war in the group chat. And if you can’t manage a kiss, fine—make up anyway, or at least learn to fake sincerity like an adult.
