DeSantis Sets November 3 Special Election For School Board District 1 Race

Get The Coast— Gov. Ron DeSantis has scheduled a special primary election for Nov. 3 to fill the Okaloosa County School Board District 1 seat after both original candidates were disqualified because their qualifying paperwork did not meet state requirements. The special election gives District 1 voters another opportunity to choose a school board representative following the unusual qualifying error. Election officials will announce candidate qualifying dates and additional details as the special election process moves forward.

Turkey Creek Streaker Arrested In Santa Rosa County

WJHG— A 46-year-old Milton man was arrested in Santa Rosa County after authorities identified him as the suspect who was reportedly seen removing his clothing on the Turkey Creek Nature Trail in Niceville on July 29. He was taken into custody on an active warrant for indecent exposure issued by the Niceville Police Department. The suspect is being held in Santa Rosa County and is expected to be extradited to Okaloosa County to face the charge.
