Heads Up Kenwood Residents In FWB

City Of Fort Walton Beach— The Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County has issued a health advisory for Chula Vista Bayou near Mooney Road in Fort Walton Beach following a wastewater release. Although the city's drinking water remains safe, the affected waterway may contain untreated sewage and harmful microbes that can cause gastrointestinal and other illnesses. Residents and visitors are advised to avoid contact with the water whenever possible, and anyone who does come into contact with it should wash thoroughly, especially before eating or drinking. Children, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems are at greater risk of illness. Because the spill occurred on private property, water quality testing will be conducted privately, and the advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe.

Naked Man In Niceville Park Spotted On Camera

WJHG— Niceville Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man captured on surveillance video walking through a local park without clothing. According to investigators, the incident occurred at a city park, and officers are reviewing the footage while seeking information that could help identify the individual. Anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Niceville Police Department as the investigation continues.

Construction At Liza Jackson Park To Begin On Monday

City Of Fort Walton Beach— The City of Fort Walton Beach has announced that major renovations at Liza Jackson Park will begin on Aug. 3, requiring the closure of the park’s west side, including the boat launch, for approximately six months. The $3.1 million project will add a new restroom building, expanded parking for vehicles and boat trailers, a redesigned boat launch area, new sidewalks, and stormwater improvements. The upgrades are funded through the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency, Infrastructure Surtax funds, and a $1 million contribution from Okaloosa County’s Tourist Development Tax program.

Woman Told She Had 3 Days To Live... After A Spider Bite!

DailyMail— A Kansas woman is recovering after a spider bite during a camping trip at Cheney Lake led to a life-threatening medical emergency. Several days after being bitten, she developed severe pain and bruising in her leg, and doctors discovered multiple blood clots that required surgery. She later developed a serious infection that progressed to sepsis, putting her at risk of liver failure, and physicians warned she had only days to live. After spending nearly a month in intensive care and undergoing multiple procedures to treat tissue damage, she was able to return home. While doctors suspect a brown recluse spider may have been responsible, they have not confirmed the species. As her condition stabilizes, she is now among thousands of Americans awaiting a liver transplant due to end-stage liver failure.

National Avocado Day is that annual civic duty where grown adults pretend a fruit that tastes like damp lawn clippings is a personality trait. We slap it on toast, pay twelve dollars for the privilege, and call it “self-care” like our grandfathers didn’t survive on black coffee and spite. The influencers light their ring lights, the grocery stores jack the prices, and everybody acts shocked when the “perfectly ripe” one is either a rock or a science project. It’s absurd, you know it’s absurd, and yet here we are—about to build an entire day around a green mush that browns faster than your optimism.
