FWB Man Steals A Stolen E-Bike

FWB PDA stolen electric bicycle was recovered, and two individuals were arrested after the Fort Walton Beach Police Department conducted an undercover operation involving a Facebook Marketplace listing. The investigation began after a resident reported that her electric bicycle, stolen in March, had been listed for sale online. Detectives with the Special Investigations Unit arranged to purchase the bicycle for $400 from the seller, identified as Sedric Lee Rodgers, 31. Rodgers arrived at the meeting location riding the stolen bicycle. When officers attempted to stop him after observing a traffic violation, he fled, abandoning the bicycle before leading officers on a short foot pursuit. He was taken into custody without incident. During the arrest, Dimitris Rafael Michailidis, 18, picked up the stolen bicycle and attempted to leave with it. After being ordered to drop the bicycle, he fled the scene in a pickup truck but later returned. The investigation determined he had attempted to take possession of the stolen property, and he was subsequently arrested. The stolen bicycle was recovered and will be returned to its owner. The Fort Walton Beach Police Department reminds residents who discover suspected stolen property for sale online to contact law enforcement rather than attempting to recover it themselves. Working with law enforcement helps ensure public safety and increases the likelihood of successfully recovering stolen property.

Slurring Words, Open White Claws in the Car... Sounds Like an Easy DUI Arrest

NY PostNewly released body camera footage shows Nantucket Planning Director Leslie Woodson Snell struggling to stand and slurring her words after crashing her vehicle into a street sign near a restaurant where she admitted to drinking. Police reported she had glassy, bloodshot eyes and smelled strongly of alcohol. Officers found an open bottle of vodka, several open cans of White Claw and small bottles of liquor inside her vehicle. Snell failed multiple field sobriety tests and later refused a breathalyzer at the police station. Her arrest sparked criticism after her contract was renewed months later, allowing her to keep her $203,000-a-year position. She ultimately reached a plea agreement that required her to surrender her driver's license for 45 days, complete an alcohol education program and pay $600 in court costs.

Ask Uncle Bobby

Bad advice for good people.

As heard on the B-Team Morning Show

Each weekday, some poor soul writes in for help. Uncle Bobby gives them the worst advice we can legally put on the air.

July 17 · Today's Letter

Dear Uncle Bobby,

I have constant thoughts and opinions running through my head all day. Should I start a podcast and just talk into a microphone, even if I’m not an expert on anything?

Today's Holidays

Celebrate the weird stuff. We do.

Holiday #1 of 4

National Tattoo Day

National Tattoo Day is the annual reminder that humans will pay good money to let a stranger with a humming needle turn their skin into a diary they can’t delete. It’s part celebration, part coping mechanism, and part “I lost a bet in 2009” reunion, where everybody swears their ink is meaningful and also totally not about that ex. The shops run specials, the brave go first, the impulsive go next, and the rest of you just scroll flash sheets like it’s a menu you can wear forever. It’s absurd, sure—but it’s also the one day a bad decision comes with aftercare instructions and a tube of ointment.
