What We're Talking About

The news we couldn't ignore if we tried

Beware Of Those Tasty Waffle House Windows

PeopleAn 84-year-old Florida man has filed a lawsuit against Waffle House, alleging that large promotional signs in the restaurant’s windows distracted him and caused him to trip over a curb as he entered the business. Edward Bowlds claims the curb was unusually high, blended into the parking lot, and lacked adequate warning markings, resulting in a fall that left him with permanent injuries. He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. Waffle House denies the allegations, arguing the property was reasonably safe and that the curb was an open and obvious condition.

USA Advances To Round Of 16 In World Cup

PSG built an insurmountable lead through clinical finishing and relentless attacking pressure, while Inter Miami struggled to create meaningful chances despite featuring Lionel Messi. UWF Prepares For Transition To D-I

WEAR TV3As the University of West Florida prepares for its first season in NCAA Division I, school officials say new age-based eligibility rules will make roster management more straightforward for coaches and athletes. The updated system gives student-athletes up to five years of eligibility without the need for traditional redshirt designations or many waiver requests, creating a more predictable process. UWF Athletic Director Dave Scott said the changes should benefit students by providing additional time to complete their education and capitalize on name, image and likeness opportunities while the university embarks on an exciting new chapter in Division I athletics.

Ask Uncle Bobby

Bad advice for good people.

As heard on the B-Team Morning Show

Each weekday, some poor soul writes in for help. Uncle Bobby gives them the worst advice we can legally put on the air.

July 2 · Today's Letter

Dear Uncle Bobby,

I love living in the city, but I feel guilty that I do not really vote, volunteer, or go to local events. Is it possible to live here without contributing to the community?

Today's Holidays

Celebrate the weird stuff. We do.

Holiday #1 of 4

Made in the USA Day

Made in the USA Day is that proud little holiday where we all pretend we can still buy something without a cargo ship, a barcode confession, or a factory on the other side of the planet doing the heavy lifting. It’s a celebration of homegrown grit, domestic manufacturing, and the sweet, delusional thrill of paying extra for a sticker that says “USA” like it’s a moral vitamin. People wave flags, companies dust off their most patriotic packaging, and everybody suddenly becomes an amateur supply-chain detective with the attention span of a goldfish. It’s absurd on purpose, and that’s the point—because nothing brings a nation together like shopping with feelings.
