EFCU Opens New Branch In DeFuniak Springs

Get The Coast— Eglin Federal Credit Union has officially opened its new full-service branch in DeFuniak Springs, expanding access to banking services for members in Walton County. Located at 677 U.S. Highway 90 W., the approximately 4,400-square-foot branch features an open-concept design with interactive touchscreens, Video Tellers, drive-thru ATMs, a Coinstar machine and other convenient services. The new location represents the credit union’s continued growth in the region and its commitment to providing personalized financial support, with leaders noting the branch fulfills a long-awaited need for members in the DeFuniak Springs community.

Man Wanted For Stealing AC Units In Pensacola

WEAR TV3— The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating 48-year-old Joshua Michael McCay, who is wanted on multiple felony charges in connection with the theft of two air conditioning units from a daycare on Mobile Highway and the alleged theft and scrapping of about $30,000 worth of metal handrails from a business on Brigadier Street. McCay faces charges including burglary, grand theft, dealing in stolen property, fraud, criminal mischief, trespassing with intent to commit an offense, and possession of burglary tools. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers or the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Blighted Steamboat Landing To Be Demolished

Get The Coast— The Fort Walton Beach City Council has approved the demolition of the long-vacant Steamboat Landing property at 161 Brooks St. SE, clearing the way for future redevelopment of the nearly one-acre waterfront site. The city will fund the demolition through its Community Redevelopment Agency’s nuisance-abatement program after determining the deteriorated structure had become a safety concern. Once the site is cleared, the property—zoned for mixed-use development with approximately 210 feet of waterfront frontage—will be marketed for new commercial or mixed-use investment as part of the city’s ongoing downtown revitalization efforts.
