WEAR TV3After a 10-month investigation, authorities arrested two suspects accused of stealing more than $250,000 worth of copper wiring from interstate and bridge light poles across the Pensacola area. Investigators say the thefts damaged critical roadway lighting infrastructure, creating safety hazards and costing taxpayers significant repair expenses. The suspects now face multiple felony charges, and officials say the investigation remains ongoing with the possibility of additional arrests.

Okaloosa County Takes Next Steps For Usage Fees At Public Parks

Get The CoastOkaloosa County commissioners have directed staff to continue exploring a paid parking program for select beaches, parks, and boat ramps, with a proposal that would keep parking free for county residents while charging visitors. Officials say any revenue generated would help fund maintenance and improvements to public facilities, potentially reducing the burden on local taxpayers. The plan is still in the early stages, with county leaders expected to review vendor proposals, fee structures, and a possible pilot program before making any final decisions.

Someone Razored The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool

CBS NewsFederal officials say newly disclosed evidence suggests at least some of the damage to the recently renovated Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was intentional. According to a National Park Service court filing, workers found a foam seal cut with a sharp blade and about 70 fence-post caps thrown into the water, lending support to President Trump's earlier claims that vandals were responsible for the damage. The $14.7 million renovation has also been plagued by algae growth, and officials plan to drain the pool and begin repairs after the Fourth of July. Authorities have arrested five people in connection with the alleged vandalism, issued federal citations to five others, and say the investigation remains ongoing.

Stewart was arrested and charged with several offenses, including drug trafficking-related crimes, providing prohibited items to inmates, and obstruction. Officials say all of the suspected contraband was recovered and secured as evidence.

Today's Holidays

Celebrate the weird stuff. We do.

Holiday #1 of 4

Forgiveness Day

Forgiveness Day is that annual civic cleanup where we all pretend our grudges are just clutter and not a personality trait. You call the cousin you haven’t spoken to since the Great Potato Salad Incident, you “let go” of the thing you bring up at every barbecue, and you slap a fresh coat of virtue on the same old cracks like it’s home improvement. It’s not about being holy; it’s about being tired, and realizing revenge is expensive and therapy has a waiting list. So take the hint, unclench your jaw, and make your amends now—because tomorrow you’ll be back to collecting petty like it’s a retirement plan.
