Matt Gaetz Back In Public Service In NWFL

Get The CoastFormer Congressman Matt Gaetz has been appointed to the board of Triumph Gulf Coast by Daniel Perez, marking his first public service role since leaving Congress in 2024. His four-year term begins July 1, 2026, and runs through June 30, 2030. Triumph Gulf Coast manages Florida’s share of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill settlement funds, directing investments and economic recovery efforts across eight Northwest Florida counties affected by the disaster. Gaetz said he looks forward to helping improve the lives of residents in the region, while the appointment also continues a family connection to the organization, as his father, Don Gaetz, previously served on the board and chaired it from 2018 to 2022.

Guilty Verdict in Animal Cruelty Case

MidBay NewsA Santa Rosa County jury found 22-year-old Gunner Cole Bush guilty of aggravated animal cruelty after prosecutors presented evidence that he tortured and killed a kitten in 2023 and linked him to the deaths of two other family cats that had disappeared while he was living with his then-girlfriend’s family. Investigators recovered the remains of the missing cats and a tool found in Bush’s truck that forensic testing connected to the kitten’s death. The case was investigated by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office and Animal Services, with forensic assistance from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Bush is scheduled to be sentenced on July 27 before Circuit Judge Clifton Drake.

Butter Is Now A Toy?

YahooMove over Tickle Me Elmo—the newest toy sensation is the butter squishy, a soft foam fidget toy shaped like a stick of butter that slowly returns to its original shape after being squeezed. Its popularity has surged as the once-coveted NeeDoh squishies have become difficult to find, prompting kids to seek out the next collectible craze. Retailers report that butter squishies are flying off shelves, with children eagerly buying, trading, and collecting them much like Pokémon cards. The trend has also gained traction on TikTok, where users create ASMR videos by freezing the toys, coating them in wax, and cracking them open for dramatic visual and sound effects.

Millenials Are Aging Faster Biologically

NY PostA recent study suggests that people born in the 1990s may be experiencing faster biological aging than earlier generations, despite often appearing younger physically. Researchers found that millennials born during that decade had a significantly larger difference between their biological and chronological ages compared with those born in the late 1960s, a pattern associated with increased risks of cancers including lung, colorectal, gastrointestinal, and uterine cancers. The findings may help explain why cancer diagnoses among adults under 50 have increased by about 24% since 1990. While the exact causes remain unclear, scientists believe factors such as obesity, poor nutrition, physical inactivity, environmental exposures, and other lifestyle changes could be contributing to accelerated aging, and they hope the research will lead to better risk assessment and earlier cancer detection.

Ask Uncle Bobby

Bad advice for good people.

As heard on the B-Team Morning Show

Each weekday, some poor soul writes in for help. Uncle Bobby gives them the worst advice we can legally put on the air.

June 24 · Today's Letter

Dear Uncle Bobby,

I have a coworker who keeps taking credit for my ideas in meetings. I want to stop it and make sure my work is recognized, but I do not want it to look like I am starting conflict. What should I do?

Today's Holidays

Celebrate the weird stuff. We do.

Holiday #1 of 4

International Fairy Day

International Fairy Day is that annual calendar prank where grown adults agree to honor tiny imaginary freeloaders with wings, glitter, and a work ethic like a housecat. It’s usually celebrated by leaving out “offerings,” telling stories, and pretending the woods are full of magical beings instead of mosquitoes, bad decisions, and that one neighbor who won’t stop talking about crystals. The point isn’t to prove fairies exist; it’s to give your brain a smoke break from spreadsheets and doomscrolling, then dress it up like tradition. Keep it light, keep it weird, and don’t act surprised when this somehow turns into an excuse to buy sparkly stuff you’ll regret by Thursday.
