FBI Stops Targeted White House Attack Over Past Weekend

Washington Post— Teenager Tycen Proper allegedly plotted an attack against the U.S. government that targeted a UFC event held at the White House during the Independence 250 celebration, according to federal authorities. The FBI said it received a tip about the threat on June 10 and launched a multi-state investigation that led to several arrests, preventing the attack before it could be carried out. Court documents allege the plan involved coordinated violence using firearms, explosives, and drones to target attendees and trigger chaos during an evacuation. The event proceeded safely, while investigators continue to examine the case and determine whether additional suspects were involved. Proper remains in custody without bond on multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States, and is scheduled for a detention hearing on Wednesday.

Destin City Council Moves Forward With $600K Agreement With FDOT

Get The Coast— The Destin City Council unanimously approved an agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation that will reimburse the city up to $600,000 for median and landscaping improvements along Highway 98 from the Marler Bridge to the Walton County line. The project includes installing concrete ribbon curbing around planted median islands and replacing a failed irrigation well near Big Kahuna’s with a reclaimed-water line. City officials estimate the work will cost between $350,000 and $400,000, leaving the possibility of using remaining funds for additional landscaping, trees, and vegetation improvements. Once construction is complete, the city will assume responsibility for maintaining the upgraded medians and landscaping in accordance with FDOT standards.

FL Couple Decides To Keep Baby In IVF Mix Up

NY Post— A Florida couple discovered that a fertility clinic had mistakenly implanted the wrong embryo during an IVF procedure, resulting in the birth of a child who was not genetically related to them. After DNA testing confirmed the error, the baby’s biological parents were identified, and the two families reached a private custody agreement. Under the arrangement, the couple who carried and gave birth to the child will remain her legal and permanent custodial parents while maintaining a positive relationship with the biological parents.
