Man Arrested In Destin For Alleged Mass Shooting In LA

WEAR TV3A North Carolina man suspected of planning a mass shooting at a major festival in Louisiana was arrested Wednesday evening in Okaloosa County, Florida. Federal authorities alerted the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office that the individual would be in the area, leading deputies to locate him at a hotel in Destin. His identity has not been released. Virginia Judge Blocks Certification Of Tuesday's Election

Daily CallerA Virginia judge has blocked the state from certifying the results of a special election on a redistricting referendum that could have enabled Democrats to gain four additional congressional seats. In a ruling issued Wednesday, Tazewell Circuit Court Judge Jack Hurtley said the process behind the referendum violated multiple state laws and that certifying the outcome would harm Republican lawmakers. If implemented, the measure could shift Virginia’s congressional delegation from a narrow 6–5 split to a 10–1 Democratic advantage. In response, Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones said on X that his office would immediately appeal, arguing that “an activist judge should not have veto power over the People’s vote.”

BuzzBalls? Sounds Like Gen Z'er Love 'em!

FoxNewsConcerns are rising about the growing popularity of high-alcohol ready-to-drink cocktails, such as BuzzBallz, among younger consumers. Experts warn that their sweet taste can conceal their strength, making it easy to consume more alcohol than intended, with some containing nearly two standard drinks per serving and larger versions holding even more. Critics also point to their bright packaging, convenience, and presence in viral social media trends as factors that may make them appear harmless, particularly in social settings where overconsumption is more likely. However, specialists emphasize that the issue centers on awareness and responsible drinking rather than the beverages themselves.

Today's Holidays

Celebrate the weird stuff. We do.

Holiday #1 of 4

English Language Day

English Language Day is that annual moment when we all pretend the most chaotic, duct-taped-together language on Earth deserves a nice little ribbon and a respectful nod. It’s a celebration of English: the linguistic junk drawer where we keep three synonyms for “drunk,” fourteen ways to apologize without meaning it, and spelling rules that quit halfway through the job. People mark it by honoring writers, words, and communication, which is adorable considering most of our communication is just vibes, typos, and threats of “circling back.” So today we raise a glass to the language that conquered the world by tripping over its own shoelaces and calling it innovation.
