US and Iran Agree To Two-Week Ceasefire

CNN— On Tuesday, President Trump announced that he had agreed to a “double-sided ceasefire” with Iran just under two hours before a deadline requiring Iran to either reach an agreement with the United States or face large-scale attacks on its power infrastructure. He explained that the ceasefire, made at Pakistan’s request, depends on Iran’s full, immediate, and secure reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Israel has also accepted the proposal. The conflict began on February 28, when the U.S. and Israel jointly launched extensive strikes on thousands of targets in Iran, prompting Iran to respond with attacks on Israel and several U.S.-allied nations in the Gulf region.

City of FWB and Okaloosa Co. In A Spat Over Cameras

WEAR TV3— Okaloosa County, Florida, is maintaining a strict stance against surveillance cameras on county property after commissioners voted in March to ban red light and speed cameras from county right-of-ways. A dispute arose over a camera installed near Fort Walton Beach High School, which the county attorney says sits on county-owned land and was put up without proper permitting after the city activated cameras in several school zones in May 2025. Commissioners unanimously voted to request that the city dismiss all citations issued by that camera and refund collected fines, while also reviewing another camera near Edwin’s Elementary. Although some local drivers support the cameras for safety reasons, Commissioner Trey Godwin said data does not show a significant improvement in school safety, emphasizing that any measures must comply with the law. The city is now reviewing jurisdiction over the roadway, and both cameras on Hollywood Boulevard have been deactivated amid the confusion, with speeding fines previously set at $100 for exceeding school zone limits by 10 mph.

FWBPD Welcomes New Officer To Force

FWB.org— Officer Darerean Berry was officially sworn in to the Fort Walton Beach Police Department on Wednesday during a ceremony attended by his family, friends, and fellow officers. He previously served as a deputy with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and is a graduate of the Northwest Florida State College law enforcement academy. The department proudly welcomed Officer Berry to the team.

Deputies were called to a house party on Wood Beach Drive in Seagrove this evening. When they arrived, there were more than 70 kids from the Magnolia State in a drunken state. Two adults and approximately 15 teens were staying in the house as a rental. “Were” being the key word here. Welp, it’s back to the Hospitality State you goooo. The Sunshine State will see you out.
