Destin Commons Evacuated On Sunday For Bomb Threat

WEAR TV3— Authorities in Okaloosa County responded to a bomb threat reported Sunday at the AMC Destin Commons 14, prompting evacuations and a request for the public to avoid the Destin Commons area while deputies investigated. As a precaution, people nearby were cleared from the immediate vicinity, traffic became backed up, and the 8th Annual Mac & Cheese Festival was canceled. After conducting a thorough search using explosives detection dogs and specialized units, the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office announced that Destin Commons was safe to reopen, though the theater would remain closed. Officials also noted that several jurisdictions across Florida received similar bomb threats that day, and investigations into the incidents were ongoing.

Ironic and Tragic: Colorado Couple Dies At Same Intersection

USAToday— A Colorado man who died in a two-vehicle crash on March 2 had previously lost his wife in a separate accident at the same intersection two years earlier. His wife was killed in May 2024 while out for a run, prompting the man to begin attending city council meetings to advocate for the installation of a traffic light at the location, though one was never added. The man was later killed in a collision at that same intersection, and authorities have not issued any citations related to the crash.

Walton County Busts Underage Spring Breaker House Party

Walton County Sheriff's Office Facebook Page— Sunday evening, Walton County Sheriff's Office posted this story to their Facebook page regarding a busted house party. LSU and Ole Miss fans will find this intriguing. Hottie Nottie. For those keeping score, LSU took an early lead, but Ole Miss was quick to tie it up on the eviction board. A group of spring breakers from Ole Miss were evicted late last night from a rental in Miramar Beach after Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to calls regarding a house party. When deputies arrived on Hollywood Street, they found the inside of the home trashed with beer cans and liquor bottles everywhere. By the time everything was cleaned up, it filled more than five garbage cans. George Goldston, 19, an Ole Miss student, was arrested for open house party and minor in possession of alcohol. No one inside the home was 21, and the person who rented the property wasn’t present. For the past several years, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office has worked closely with property management companies to identify rentals where renters turn into Rebels during Spring Break. Whether it’s loud parties, property damage, or dangerous behavior, evictions will leave you heading back to the Sip without your deposit and no refund.
