Man Arrested for DUI on Electric Unicycle

KIRO7A 34-year-old man in Kitsap County, Washington, was arrested for DUI after a late-night ride on an electric unicycle. Deputies reported he was riding erratically and briefly attempted to flee during a traffic stop before being located after crashing into a ditch. Officers observed signs of intoxication, and tests later showed his blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.

Another Spring Break Bust Brings Low Tide

Walton Co. Sheriff's OfficeFrom Walton County Sheriff's Office Facebook Page: Allow us to address the elephant in the room. Yea, Alabama. Evicted before 7 pm. That's gotta be a new record. Tuesday, just after 5 pm, the Walton County Sheriff's Office was called by a property manager for a home on Overlook Circle in Miramar Beach. They asked for a deputy to stand by while they evicted a group having a house party and probably playing Dixieland Delight too loud. No one inside was 21. Heading back to Sweet Home Alabama before sunset must've been a Tide-al wave of emotions. Our agency will continue to aggressively monitor those here on Spring Break disrupting quality of life for those who call Walton County home.

AKC Lists Top 5 Dog Breeds in America

Today ShowThe American Kennel Club’s latest popularity rankings show the French bulldog still in the top spot, though its lead may be slipping as registrations dropped to about half of the previous year, with the fast-rising dachshund close behind. The Labrador retriever holds steady at No. 2 after an extraordinary 31-year run at No. 1, followed by the ever-popular golden retriever at No. 3 and the widely respected German shepherd dog at No. 4. The dachshund breaks into the top five for the first time in over 20 years. Looking back, Yorkshire terriers ranked sixth 25 years ago while French bulldogs were far lower at No. 64; 50 years ago, Saint Bernards were seventh but have since fallen to 63rd; and a century ago, German shepherds, beagles, and bulldogs were already among the top 10—positions they still maintain today.

Survey Finds 19 Million Americans Have Seriously Thought About Shooting Someone

Study FindsA new study indicates that millions of Americans have at some point experienced thoughts of shooting someone, with researchers estimating about 7% of U.S. adults—roughly 19.4 million people—have had such thoughts in their lifetime and about 3%, or 8.7 million, within the past year. The findings suggest that firearm ownership itself does not increase the likelihood of these thoughts, though access to a gun may influence potential risk. A small portion of those surveyed said they had taken steps such as bringing a firearm somewhere with the idea of possibly using it or considering purchasing one. Researchers noted that many individuals who report these thoughts also present opportunities for intervention, such as being willing to confide in others or temporarily limit their access to firearms, with the goal of preventing these thoughts from escalating into real-world harm.

Today's Holidays

Celebrate the weird stuff. We do.

Holiday #1 of 4

Let's Laugh Day

Let’s Laugh Day is that annual civic reminder to unclench your jaw, stop auditioning for sainthood, and let your dignity take a short, supervised smoke break. The premise is simple: laugh on purpose, even if your life looks like a group project run by raccoons, because apparently joy doesn’t show up unless you drag it in by the collar. You don’t need a reason, a comedian, or a seven-step wellness plan—just a pulse and enough self-awareness to realize you’ve been taking yourself like a legal document. We’re not fixing the world today; we’re just making it slightly harder for it to fix us.
