TPUSA Announces All-American Halftime Show

Billboard— Turning Point USA has announced an alternative to the NFL’s official Super Bowl Halftime Show with its “All-American Halftime Show,” set for Feb. 8 and featuring performances by Kid Rock, Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, and Gabby Barrett, a lineup the conservative nonprofit revealed on social media after weeks of silence. The counterprogram follows backlash from some right-wing commentators and President Donald Trump over the NFL’s selection of Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl halftime performer, despite the Puerto Rican-born American artist’s historic success, including becoming the first Spanish-language artist to win Album of the Year at the 2026 Grammys and earning additional awards that night. TPUSA, founded by the late Charlie Kirk, first announced plans for a competing event in October 2025, the same month Bad Bunny hosted SNL and emphasized the prominence of Spanish-language culture. Several of the TPUSA performers promoted the event online, with all four artists bringing significant chart success and industry recognition to the showcase.

Sewage Leaks Into Santa Rosa Sound

WEAR TV3— The Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County has issued a health advisory for Santa Rosa Sound near the Marina on Okaloosa Island after a reported sewer spill in the Amberjack Drive area. Officials said a grease-related blockage in a gravity main caused wastewater to overflow from a manhole into a storm drain that empties into a nearby boat basin, with about 175 gallons released in total—most of which was contained and recovered, while roughly 25 gallons entered the waterway. The spill was discovered, repaired, and cleaned by midafternoon, and affected areas were disinfected, though health officials warned that contact with contaminated water can pose health risks, particularly for children, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems.
