Patriots In Super Bowl For First Time Since 2019 - Trump To Skip It

NY PostYesterday, the New England Patriots won in the AFC Championship Game at Denver 10-7. In Seattle, the Seahawks sqeaked past the LA Rams 31-27 in a very entertaining game. But, President Donald Trump said he will not attend this year’s Super Bowl, citing his dislike of halftime performer Bad Bunny and pre-game act Green Day, both of whom have been openly critical of him. Trump said their involvement reflects poor choices that “sow hatred,” calling it “terrible,” though he added that the music itself is not the primary reason for his absence, instead pointing to the distance of this year’s game in Santa Clara, California. Trump did attend last year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, which featured the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

The ICE Numbers Don’t Match the Narrative

NY PostTrump-era ICE made nearly 600,000 arrests with about 40 wrongful detentions — an error rate under 0.01%. Under Obama, mistakes were more than three times higher. The data doesn’t fit the outrage headlines, but it’s right there in black and white.

Don't Pick Up Your Kid From School Drunk

KUTVA Utah woman was arrested for driving under the influence after attempting to pick up her daughter from daycare with a blood alcohol level nearly eight times the legal limit. The woman reportedly needed assistance to stand, was unable to complete her sentences, and later tested at a .419 blood alcohol level, leading to her arrest.

Stealing AA and AAA Batteries From Hotels Is Actually Really Common

YahooA new study examining hotel theft reports found that the most frequently stolen item from hotel rooms is not towels or bathrobes but batteries. Data cited by Yahoo shows that guests most often take AA or AAA batteries from items like remotes, clocks, or small devices, with researchers noting they are stolen more frequently than toiletries, linens, or décor. The study suggests batteries are targeted because they are small, easy to take, and often go unnoticed during checkout, though hotels say these seemingly minor losses accumulate and lead to significant replacement costs over time.

Today's Holidays

Holiday #1 of 4

Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day

Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day is the last Monday in January, when otherwise functional adults pretend that popping plastic air pillows is some kind of cultural event. It started because a radio station got bored and a factory made a shipping mistake—like most traditions, it was born from chaos and carried forward by people who should know better. It's half stress relief, half excuse to make noise without consequences, which, coincidentally, describes every uncle at Thanksgiving. So if you hear popping sounds in the office today, don’t worry—it’s not gunfire, just capitalism having a nervous breakdown.
