College Radio Station DJ Learns A Lesson

NY Post— A University of Massachusetts Lowell–affiliated college radio DJ is under investigation after posting an online message stating, “It’s simple, we kill JD Vance,” which drew swift attention due to its reference to Vice President J.D. Vance. The university notified authorities, prompting a review by the U.S. Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies, who later determined there was no credible threat. The DJ subsequently deleted the post and resigned from the campus radio station, while the university denounced the statement as unacceptable and dangerous.

Okaloosa Co. Schools Updates Plans For South Elementary Schools

WEAR TV3— The Okaloosa County School District has approved rezoning plans that include closing Longwood and Mary Esther elementary schools, citing long-term financial and enrollment challenges. After reviewing data since August, district leaders concluded keeping the schools open was not feasible due to a 19% decline in south-end elementary enrollment over the past decade, rising operational costs, and significant funding losses tied to school choice programs such as Senate Bill 318. Officials said similar trends are affecting districts statewide and warned that delaying closures would only postpone a larger problem. Despite emotional pleas from parents during a public forum, the school board unanimously voted to move forward, with affected students to be rezoned to nearby schools and families offered outreach and support during the transition.
