What We're Talking About

The news we couldn't ignore if we tried

From Fried Chicken to Felony in One Bad Argument

Local10She starts with a chicken-to-the-face fastball, upgrades to waving a kitchen knife, and somehow thinks this won’t end in handcuffs. Victim doesn’t even want to press charges, but the law’s like, “Ma’am, this isn’t a misunderstanding, it’s a felony.”

Fence: 1, Criminal: 0

KIRO7A 20-year-old tries to break in, fails at the front door, wrecks the gate, then literally traps himself in the fence like a discount cartoon villain. Cops had to cut him loose just to arrest him. Crime wasn’t his calling; slapstick was.

Black Bear Crashes Christmas Like He Owns the Parade

WBIRA black bear strolls down a Christmas parade route like it’s on the program, then heads for the dumpsters. Fun for humans, bad for the bear—once they crave people-food, the story usually doesn’t get a merry ending.

Pensacola Man Steals Over $34,000 In Property

WEAR TV3A 47-year-old Pensacola man, Odom, is facing multiple felony charges—including dealing in stolen property, grand theft, burglary, and criminal mischief—after Escambia County deputies recovered more than $34,000 in stolen items during an October investigation stemming from a tip about a stolen tractor on Garman Road. With the property owner’s permission, investigators found a stolen utility trailer and two marine engines, and witnesses linked Odom to bringing the trailer and a 17-foot Key West boat to the location earlier in the month. Although the boat was gone when deputies executed a search warrant on Oct. 21, further investigation led them to a nearby residence where they recovered the boat and a 30-foot Haulmark trailer filled with additional stolen property, including two Harley Davidson motorcycles and various tools. Deputies also located more stolen items—many taken from a Gulf Beach Highway warehouse—at another site on Kittrell Road. Odom remains in the Escambia County Jail on a federal probation violation.

Uncle Bobby

Ask Uncle Bobby

Bad advice for good people.

As heard on the B-Team Morning Show

Each weekday, some poor soul writes in for help. Uncle Bobby gives them the worst advice we can legally put on the air.

January 24 · Today's Letter

Dear Uncle Bobby,

My boss insists on a daily “quick 30-minute sync,” but the meeting always drags on for over an hour and accomplishes nothing. How do I survive this without losing my sanity or my job?

Today's Holidays

Celebrate the weird stuff. We do.

Holiday #1 of 4

Weary Willie Day

December 9th is Weary Willie Day, when we honor a depressed clown with no shoes and even less job security—because nothing says "festive" like existential dread in a porkpie hat. Inspired by Emmett Kelly’s sad sack hobo routine, it’s the only holiday that pairs seasonal cheer with the emotional weight of a foreclosure notice. You’re supposed to reflect on hardship or whatever, but mostly it's an excuse for adults to cosplay rock bottom without the commitment. So light a candle, smear on some soot, and celebrate failure like it’s a damn art form.
